Default Walking in uncharted territory... some help with getting a forged shortblock.

Well guys like the title says I am looking to go F/I and never look back but I know this road is gonna be bumpy, long, and expensive so I have decided to do it right the first time and I found this http://www.turbo-kits.com/350Z_turbo_kits.html I am looking at the complete shortblock on that page that already has pistons, crank, and con rods already connected and was wondering if this is a good deal or should I stay away and I have been lookin around quite a bit lately and read all of the stickys. So go ahead guys rip me up and help me get this straightened out. THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH BEFORE HAND

Many would say 400WHP, but many more would say it doesn't matter... if you go FI, get the built engine. I'd agree with the later sentiment, especially since a few people just blew their motors.

A well done stock sleeved short block will be good for 600whp thats way past the turbos limits that comes with the TN kit. Besides SGP for shortblocks, check out www.builtzmotors.com and www.forgedinternals.com both guys are very knowledgable and now offer these blocks suited to fit your needs. Good luck.

so you don't need to do a built lon block until over 500whp just a built shortblock? or is a built long block needed.

Short block is the block, pistons, rods, and crank. For making safe power that is all you really need. Longblock is what I stated above plus the heads assembled-basically a motor without acessories on it. Around 550whp levels and over def do a set of cams to help breathing. You could do a short block and cams and be good to max pretty much any turbo kit out there. If you do headwork besides cams (longblock usually) is up to you....

And Turbokits price doesnt include a core charge. The shortblock is just one small cost component. Lots of labor and anxillary items are needed. For a basic shortblock swap install, you are looking at about $6500, plus a core.

But installing a shortblock is a great idea with FI, if your budget permits it simultaneously.

I guess I will throw in our link, just for good measure. http://www.forgedperformance.com/sto...cat=277&page=1

so you guys are getting the engines from Sam? I needa get a hold of him but he's always busy/outa town/has the day off/not in the office.
I'm debating if I should turn up the boost or not.
I thought I'd be happy with 400rwhp but it's honestly not as fast as I thought it would be. (since day 1)
