The main limiting factor with superchargers that I see is that our engine is not big enough to turn a larger head unit with all of the factory accesories. I think that if you were running no power steering and no A/C you could run a slightly larger unit (procharger uses a C2, you could upgrade to the D-series that comes in mustang kits). Or if you had the engine stroked.
However, if you used serpentine belts to get rid of slippage you could possible run a larger unit yet.

When DSport Mag and Vortech figure out the cog pulley system for the car . You will see a 600whp car . The T-trim blower is plenty big enough and flows enough to support it . There really is no need for a bigger head unit .
My belt starts to slip at 13psi @ 5900rpm and if it didnt.....I think 18psi would be reached by 7000rpm . DSport is reving to 8000rpm's
what are the highest numbers yall have seen in a supercharger (not ST/TT).
anybody ran one with built internals?
There are a few of us with built motors. Some are really pushing good #'s. I am running conservative tune as I was experiencing the overheating /head lift issue a lot of people were experiencing and don't want to tear down for head gasket and stud upgrade yet. I am at 410hp/340tq. Could probably easily gain 40 or more whp with cams, plenum spacer, 2.87 pulley, etc.
you were lifting the heads? THAT'S THE 1ST i'VE HEARD OF a VQ35 having a head clamping problem.
There are several threads on the overheating and head lift "theories". I think my problems were a combination of air in the system and head gasket starting to fail like Booger said (I had the black gasket particles in my overflow). Booger knows better than I with regards to the cause. He just went through replacing his head gasket. I installed the head strengthening mod from Scott (overzealous1) and have had good success thus far.
