Default Another MRC MasterPiece!

Hi everyone......Well I got my baby back from MRC on Thursday night after having the APS ST installed. What can I say, Julian and the guys over at MRC have beat my expectations and then some. The car is so smooth at idle and running. The power just keeps comming! The car's drivability has improved on all levels. I have a few pic's BUT no dyno yet. We are waiting for the APS ST Exhaust to come in befor the final tweaking and Dyno. Right now the car is at 7PSI and (just a guess) about 350ISH to the wheels. Hopefully the exhaust will be here in the next 2 weeks and I can get some final numbers......

great, enjoy it and be careful with that new power.

and please, if by any chance you can log boost somehow, either on the dyno, or by datalogging, please show what your boost is doing. i wanna see if the folks at MRC can solve the mysterious boost drop, since nobody else on "this" continent can.

If your running stock exhaust, that is the reason..The actuator spring needs to be tightened or replaced.

haha, MRC surely you have seen or heard about my saga with my aps st kit, along with numerous others.

straight thru JIC single 3" exhaust with resonator cut out, Forge Motorsports actuator, Blitz dual solenoid ebc, custom made crossover pipe to eliminate the flex joint, connectors checked and double checked, hell, even ran the car with no exhaust, still get a drop in boost. ive practically rebuilt the entire kit.

ill be waiting on a boost graph.

Tig, I don't know what exactly you did to your car but plenty of others that used the APS exhaust are barely getting boost drop. I even had a fabbed reverse y-pipe to my Greddy and I had about 0.5 psi of boost drop...I'm sure this won't be an issue for this customer

What kind of boost is it making and dropping to?

its strange because it does it worst on a dyno than on the street. on the street with my ebc set to 9psi and the gain set low it goes up to 9 and tapers down to around 7.5 or 8. with the ebc set to 12psi, it goes to about 11.5 and drops down to around 7.5 or 8. no matter what i do i cant make it hold past 8 on the street.

yesterday on sharifs dyno, and on other dynos, it would peak around 11.8 and by redline it was 6!!

sharif and i talked because he had another aps st that did the same, regardless of what he did. even with no exhaust, just had the turbo and dp, the boost still dropped. i did the same experiment with similar results.

i know some people have better luck, bullitproof has
my exact setup, same exhaust but makes 60 more hp, but he has cams.

im pretty much to the point of dealing with it, i was just curious to see what results you guys had.

Why is the power steering cooler mounted in front of the IC? Are you mounting it there for more flow? The location (per the APS directions) does not have it mounted there.

I would think the boost is dropping more on the dyno because of the load (or lack of load at the upper RPMS) he is putting on the car.

I would not run any exhaust other than the APS single on this setup. out of box, I saw no boost drop on the install I did. that said, Pulling the exhaust factor out the exhaust so I don't know what to say about your situation. I would try a MBC for ***** and giggles and see what happens

done it, tried a hallman pro and it didnt help. ive got some more tricks up my sleeve im gonna try soon. im just to the point where it feels strong and i dont want to do much more to it. it feels strong on the street, its just a psychological thing.

back to MRCs good thread. dont want to take away from them.
