Default UTEC map switch

I was just wondering how this worked?
This is was I am assuming, the psi I use below are examples...
so you get tuned @ 8psi store the map1, then tune @ 10psi map2, and then @13psi map3.

So after tuning is all done and the 3 maps are stored, do you just chose the map you want then match the boost with a controller?

Sorry if this sounds dumb but I have the UTEC and would like this feature if it works this easily.

Thanks for any info

Also I already have bought a EBC $$$ can it be used this way or is it easier to get XS EBS??

Now with 2.8 you dont even need to mess with BC. The utec will control the boost so you just switch and go. It is nice not to have to run around at 17 psi all the time.

until 2.8 version came out, you had it wrong, but now you can control boost through the combo of the utec and the turboxs boost solenoid.

the utec is boost sensitive so it doesnt matter what map you are on, it will change to different load sites for different boost levels. now you can set up map 1 for 93 octane, map 2 for race gas and so forth...

until now!!

now you can do like you said with V 2.8..

I have already bought a EBC before MRC figured it out with the $90 XS controler, can just get a tune for different PSI say the range of low mid high, then use the controler to match the boost with the corresponding map when activated?

The tune will never be as accurate that way..

Can anyone tell me where I can find this Utec boost controller for 79$. It's better and cheaper than an apexi BC. Nice! I would like to buy it asap, because my installation is within 2 weeks.

With an EBC set to two different boost levels, it would be just as accurate as using the TXS boost controller. The TXS setup just make it a one switch affair, rather than a two step operation.

This is true but the txs boost controller is a lot cheaper than a EBC even if you have to buy the map switch.

Which would be more accurate, like I said..Also the UTEC could be set up in closed loop boost control where it gets feedback from the UTEC MAP sensor, to control a target boost. Much more of an accurate, and simple as well as cost effective way of tunning your car.
1 Map sensor, 1 EBC , 1 ECU, all working together like one happy family..Less BS to go wrong.

Yes, since you already have an EBC, just use it. If you were starting from scratch, then the TXS would be a better idea.
