Default question bout TN kit...

In Modified Mag June 2006 it showed the install of the Turbonetics kit with an oil pan and new radiator. They completely removed the entire engine. From what I've read the install can be done with simple hand tools. Is this true?

Yes the install can be done without removing the motor. Many have done the install on jackstands in their garage. A few shops around me have the install down to 5 hours...

come on....that's seems a little fast! I wouldn't want to be the guy who had my kit installed in 5 hours! Hell, I took my time and it took me at least 2 hours to properly heat wrap ALL of the hot side piping. Heat wrapping is a good idea on this kit. there's alot of hot piping in a small area on these cars!

Completely agreed, along with using a Turbo Heat Blanket (like the one from Boost Logic sold from MVPmotorsports).

Trust me 5 hours and everything was done correctly.... That was with no gauges or other stuff though. I meant just the turbo kit and nothing else. It was 2 mechanics working on it.

thats awsome if they got it down that fast, good job there...

but i guess more generally the install quote should be around 8-9 hours...

so yah.. you got a jack/jack stands... you could actually install this yourself.

good luck with everything
