we have done lots of testing (and currently continuing to test) unsleeved block with hks headgaskets and half inch head studs..so far, it has handled anything we have thrown at it (up to 20psi)
The larger head studs+ hks headgaskets seem to make the most powerful upgrade on an unsleeved block, for upper 600+ territory, we'll see if sleeving is "necessary". always good security for not having to go back and perform a "do-over"
