Default Weary about buying used...

I am torn, I am def going forced induction. Originally i was set on twins, but in reality i think TN ST will suit all of my needs. I cant decide if i am better off buying new or used. I know it is personal preference, but i just wanted some outside inputs.
here is the kit i am looking at.

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=245911

For the same price i can get a new TN kit without any of the upgrades. Any input would be much appreciated.
thanks,
andy

You have to look at what power you want, what your willing to spend, what your willing to replace, and what your willing to do to make the kit complete. If you can get a a fully complete used TT kit with an upgraded EMU, injectors, and all the extras it may be worth it.

But personaly I see used FI kits are like used condoms. You can turn it inside out to make it safe for you, but in the end you're just gonna inherit some one elses problems.

I didn't see how much the seller was asking for or the upgrades.

If new is only a few hundred bucks more, I say definitely get new. Please PM me and I am sure I can find you some good deals, or just contact one of the many vendors here.

give him 80% now and 20% when it's installed and working on your car. If you're honest he'll get his money and if he's honest he'll have nothing to worry about. I'd do it, but would require professional install.

If you can get significant savings going used, that extra money can be used to fix any issues that you might encounter.

If you can afford it, new is always the best bet. But if you can save a grand or two, I'd go used.

A used kit from a trusted member, that is lightly used and complete, can actually be a really good deal. Just be careful. If the price is too good to be true, it most likely is.
