Low compression motor with No turbo, can it run????
I am thinking of selling my t/n turbo kit b/c I am probs going to get a twin turbo but i am not sure yet. I know the car will be slower, alot slower but will I hurt the car if I run it with no turbo kit with my low compression built motor?????? I remember seeing a thread on this but I couldnt find it, it was a pretty long time ago/????
It will run, you will loose some power due to the lower compression and no boost. Be careful, a tune is always a good idea or drive a beater until you switch out your setup completely.
Assuming everything else is in check, the fact that it is low compression is not going to hurt it driving around. Most of the time driving with a turbo is not spent boosting anyways (interstate cruising, etc).
Ok cool, im gonna take most of the tn kit off, probs sell it for 2400 b/c I want it gone, no injectors or reflash but everything else with a bigger intercooler. Thanx guys always good to hear from the more experienced.

For every point you raise compression you gain 3%. For every point you go down it's about a 2% loss. I think you're cool bro. You're looking at about a 6-6.5 HP loss..
You sure can...
I think you can use lower octane fuel as a bonus side effect.
