Light smoke.
Hi guys, I need to some knowledge here as I am not really sure if this is a problem. I got my car back from Sam at GTM a few weeks back and it runs awesome, I am heading back there very soon for some other work but I noticed some light smoke when I romp on the car. I think it could be headlift as Sam told me that he thought I might have an issue and told me to keep an eye on my APS over flow tank.
Well when I accelerate at a modest pace which is around 6-7psi I see no smoke but if I floor it then I leave a cloud of whitish smoke behind me, today I checked the overflow tank and it is almost empty (the way it was when I picked the car up 2 weeks ago) I also checked my oil and there is no milkyness to it and lastly I even checked my oil catch can just in case it was oil blowby but it is empty also, so I have really no idea what this smoke is.
Finally the water temp. reads perfect with no overheating at all. I am a little stumped and was just going to let Sam find the problem but am I missing any other things to check or are there any other signs I could look for. I am contemplating going to the HKS HG and the L19's but want to be sure this is the true cause.
Thanks for any feedback you guys provide.

Some people reported a similar issue and resolved this with a oil catch can. They were getting oil recirculated back into the intake track from the crankcase due to increased pressure from F/I...think thats how it works atleast.
IIRC and you are burning slight amounts of oil you chance for detonation is increased.
I would hold off on the boost until you get it checked out. A compression and leak down test can provide a lot of information and better safe than sorry.
Oh yea if it was coolant it would smell sweet and you would want to eat it.

For the white smoke you need to check the oil level as the APS kit is very sensitive to oil. I had a white smoke when my car was overfilled with oil.
regarding the APS overflow tank being empty, I also experinced the same thing and it turned out to be the radiator cap. changed to nismo cap and problem solved...

Thanks guys, I do not boost fully at all, I have not even been near the 12 psi it is tuned for. Dubai I did find your thread about your issues and they were similar but you never updated the thread
Sam has already upgraded my radiator cap but thinks that the radiator may have been damaged at the neck and may need to be replace which is why I will be returning to the shop. I checked the oil level and it is impossible with the dip stick as it is so hard to get an accurate measurement but it looks like it is ok.
There is no sweet smell but how would I know as I am always driving the car..lol, car was not detonating when Sam tuned it so I am pretty certain I am ok there and also why I installed the catch can but it reads empty as of today.
