Exclamation Turbo guys, with 3.3 fd got a few questions

Allright, I have found a guy to trade pumpkins, but I have an 03 touring and he has an 05 enth., I checked his car out today, super clean, low mileage, but I noticed that my car has VDC and his has TCS? Are these interchangeable, or should my search continue?

I appreciate all the help in advance.

they're interchangeable as far as I know

VDC vs TCS only applies to individual braking and the electronic throttle - nothing to do with the diff or final drive

So, just trying to save the labor bill, do both have the limited slip from factory? These may not be the smartest questions, but just curious.

Do you have the final drive on your car?

all the autos to my knowledge have the stock LSD. The only one that doesn't have the LSD is the base 6 speed model.

The 5AT diff housing is physically a little smaller than the 6MT's. And because of that, you won't be able to just put in any aftermarket LSD you want - if that was something you were considering down the road. I know cusco makes a 5AT and 6MT version of their LSD's. I think there might be another company or two that makes ones that fit the 5AT.

Another question, is it a direct swap, nothing serious?

Quaife makes an LSD for the auto diff.

it's a direct swap, and fairly easy with two people

several people have done it

+1...it will work. Most aftermarket LSD's will not with the 3.3 Final Drives...Quiafe is the exception. Good luck!

Will do, I will have the swap done on the 26th. Hoping for good things, and maybe a bit more traction.

In regards to diffs, I think Cusco has a LSD that works with the 3.357 + VLSD. Quaife is designed as a drop-in for the 3.357 + Open.

None of the 6MT diffs work with a 5AT because the 3.357 ring gear is 10mm thicker than the 3.538.

FYI, the complete pumpkin is about 100 lbs.

yes Cusco offers an auto-friendly RS rear diff as well. Quiafe, as mentioned, is another option

Just make sure you have a deep socket 17mm for the bolt on the back of the diff, I didnt know it took one when i first pulled mine out so i had to drive around town to diffrent friends houses to find one. Was the only damn socket i didnt have. lol.
