Where the thermostat goes you installed a cap/fitting that connect to a spot on the block that is normally blocked off

Yes better flow.

You still keep your stock thermostat in it's stock location

This is a low cost do it yourself option.
It does not use the extra thermostat, but flows all the time.
Coolant temps remain the same as before as the OE thermostat is still opening the same as normal & restricting total flow when the motor is cold

Not bad but I prefer the Pathfinder mod as the fittings you have there are about 1/3 the size

Both mods flow from the opening in the back of the V.
When you check the openings to the block at the bottom of that cover, you will see they are only small.
The Pathfinder flow is only utilised when the aux thermostat opens under extreme heat conditions. Mine flows all the time yet still runs at the same temps under normal conditions.
Under extreme conditions the pathfinder mod will flow more but both do the job of bypassing some of the water from the 2 rear cylinder heads.

is this the same thing as what they recomend when installing a MotorDyne spacer, I did something similar. Has to be closed when external temps are above 55.
