Nope, none at all. Most people don't even upgrade injectors or their fuel pump with a 3.12 pulley - they use the supplied FMU with the full kit. A UTEC, walbro and 440's is leaps and bounds better than that ... so you're golden

What kind of software do you need to tune the SS box that comes with the Vortech? Where do I get it? I've heard a lot of good things about the UTEC but if possible I want to see what the tuned SS box can do first.

is there any trick to get the FMIC to sit evenly.
When we installed it, the bottom was even to the ground.
After driving it a little and shaking it up, the drivers side is sagging a bit.
I really wish it would have come with brackets on both sides =(

It moved on you after driving? You might want to check all of your hose clamps while you're at it, it shouldn't move once everything is clamped down tightly.
I'm using the supplied passenger bracket, the two lower brackets (tac welded to the FMIC) and it sits perfectly fine - although it took a bit of time to get it right.

I'll check all the clamps, but I think I'm doing all right

- To safely get to a shop if you install the vortech yourself, you can either just not put on the rear cog belt so the blower doesn't turn and the car will drive NA. You can also just leave the stock belt on and not drive any of the vortech pulleys. Just don't go into positive boost on the drive there. Either way, go easy on the throttle until you're tuned

^---- Just to be clear, if you do not have the oil lines hooked up DO NOT hook up the blower belt. Also, why only do 1/2 the job yourself? Why not do the whole setup, then go get it tuned?

Sentry, I wanted to thank you for the time and everyone else for all the helpful info in this post. I'm definitely leaning towards the Vortech kit as this point, but have a huge question that Sentry has answered, but I'm hoping to get a more detailed answer.
I'd be putting the Vortech on my 05 G Sedan 6-Speed, but I'm curious what exactly is needed to make the Z Kit work on my car. I'm having no luck finding any G Rev-Up kits, otherwise that's the route I'd go...I'm looking at used btw, for financial reasons and especially since there are two Rev-Up Z kits around right now.
Does the G Coupe (since it's made specifically for the coupe) kit bolt-up to the Sedan perfectly?
Also, what is everyone paying roughly for Tuning and Install (separate prices please).
Thanks!

I think it should work on the sedan. You'll just need to order the intake pieces from Vortech or fab up your own. Parts kit: 4NZ112-035 INLET ASY G35
Tuner prices vary, as does installation. Pick your tuner and call them. But figure about $500-$700 for the tune.
Probably $1500-$2000 or so for the install maybe? I installed mine myself, so I really don't know.

So other than the intake, should that be the only difference as far as you're aware?

For people wanting to use the vortech tuner kit/utec, but don't live anywhere near good tuners like F:P or others, what are our options? are we SOL? Take me for instance, I live in Germany and dont know fo anyone who can tune this. Would I be forced to do it on my own and risk ruining my setup?

There are stand alone ECU options .. any Haltech, FCON, etc tuners in your area? If not, you're probably on your own. Best thing you can do is see if a tuner or forum member would be willing to send you a relatively close base map (with same mods) and you'll need to do some road tuning with a wideband to get it adjusted to your car.

I don't think there is anyone local who can do the tune for me. You have a really nice setup man... I think my best option will be to run the Stillen stg3 until I get back to the states in a couple of years and can work with a tuner. In the mean time I will stockpile all the parts needed to convert to Vortech.
