New Hks Supercharger V2

Here in Spain we don't have jack, and on top of that, aswell as paying for the mods, whenever you have something done to your car no matter how small that is, even changing the load rating on you tires (seriously), you have to go and get it certified and passed by an industrial engineer, and depending on what you do this isn't cheap. For example Changing my front bumper and tire load/speed rating, cost me just over 1000 bucks. Having an engineer certify any form of FI can cost around 3500 bucks, just for an f'ing engineer to look at it and say OK.
I have got the FI bug, but i want something that i can just leave on the car and thats the end of it. If i get a turbo and keep wanting to add something to make it that bit better, then when i buy a part that costs 500 buck, i'll still have to fork out another 3000 grand to get the engine re-certified. Can you see why i would want to go that route (hint:very very expensive). So, out of all the kit's out there, like many people have mentioned, the HKS one is pronanly the closest i can get to FI, without having to bolt something on to make it better some time in the future.
And what's wrong with wanting to do 300kph, with the Z's drag coefficient of 0.29, you only need about 400-420 crank.

If its so expensive then why bother?
60K for a Z, 3000 for an inspection but you cant shell out say 15K for a built, tuned TT setup vs probally 6-8K for a rotrex setup?
If your gonna do it....do it once and do it right
Heres a hint....you can have a US tuner build you a dyno tested VQ motor with all the goodies you need and have it shipped to you or you can ship the car over and have them just install it in the car
If you have the bug that bad and you can shell out loads of cash why skimp when it comes to FI
Seriously, whinning about the cost just makes you look silly ---- the HKS unit is probably the lowest on the VALUE scale so either get the most for your hard earned dollars (built TT) or buy a direct port NOS setup and learn to install it yourself
You say you wont race and just want to have fun on the highway.....Nitrous is cheap and can probably suit your needs better
Let me guess nitrous costs $200 a refill in spain right?
So whats more important...your money or making your Z faster....pick one and stick with it
The HKS kit won't be complete... you'll STILL have to get supporting mods. NO kit comes complete. So you'll still have to pay whatever thousands of dollars (
) to get your engine "re-certified".
Just get full N/A mods and slap a nitrous kit on there for when you want to have extra fun. Just learn how to use a UTEC, since you'll need it.

Man, you can lecture me all day long. Like you said on your previous post, once youve got the FI bug, that's it. So that's it. At least with the HKS unit i know ive got a limit, but with turbos, it would just go on, and on, and on. Maybe when i move over to the states, i will go all out. But whilst i'm still here in Spain, i want FI, but just to keep it within reason.
And having a car shipped out to the US isn't really a viable option. Just because i'm happy to spend a bit of cash, doesn't mean it grows out of my a$$

60K is what the car is new. Who said anything about paying 60K

If you knew the answer to this question, you would rethink your stance on the "HKS kit is the safest, easiest, cheapest way to FI" thing. Just as much is gonna need to go into this one as any other FI kit (but the HKS route WILL cost MUCH MORE). The ONLY reason anyone in here sees you going with the HKS kit is because (you said it best) you're an HKS sack rider.

(just kidding). Look man, i know that at the end of the day it's always a good idea to get bigger injectors, a tune, perhaps a fuel return system, blah, blah, blah. But at the end of the day the HKS kit doesn't NEED it. It comes very conservative out of the box, and it is the safest of all FI kits, out of the box, and you would expect it too, after all HKS has spent the past two years doing research in perfecting it. Hence why it costs so much. You can't deny that out of the box, the HKS kit is probably the safest (on par with Stillen). Don't you think?

I suppose at the end of the day where all going to have our differences and opinions. This is just mine. I like the kit, and i think it isn't that overpriced considering when it comes out it you probably will be able to get for around 5.5k in some places. When the kit comes out, i will probably by one, and then i'll let you know what i think.
Now can we get this thread back on topic, because i am anxious to hear more about the kit.

Is this true? I was under the impression that no one was making much over 300rwhp NA. I would like to learn more....
Aside from the one magazine article I have seen not indication that the HKS GT kit will be brought to the U.S.. It has been sold for some time abroad. Anyone having first hand knowledge on this please post.
Rev, we'll have to agree to disagree then. I personally don't care if something is considered the "safest" or "most complete" kit on the market... the best way to make the most out of it and keep your car running right is to take care of all the supporting mods before slapping FI on a car not built for it. Bottom line is EVERY kit is gonna need supports... no kit can run safely without them.
Maybe you'll be one of the lucky few that gets by with the minimum... but why leave that to chance?

I'm sure with a stroker kit and high compression pistons/cams, 350whp would easily be within reach.
