Oil scavenge pump
I've tried searching and haven't come up with much. I have the APS ST with some smoking issues. I'm looking to replace the oil scavenge pump. Someone suggested Mocal, does anybody have other suggestions or recommendations on a reputable pump? Thanks

As Joe pointed out, first determine the problem. You were not very specific in the first post. I never actually had the electronic check valve until a few weeks ago. It was on back order for awhile. Many ST kits did not come with this, I believe it was added after the original group buy. I was assuming you do not have this. It was driving me nuts where the smoke was coming from, until I realized I never got the ECV.

Is the oil feed entrance on the turbocharger lower than the engine oil level with the engine off? This is the only way I can see oil continuing to "trickle" into the turbocharger after the engine is shut off. Also, if the scavenging pump shuts off immediately after engine shut down, whatever oil that didnt make it through the turbocharger seeps into the compressor and eventually collects in the lower IC pipe...is this the case?
Anyone know the benefit of the electronic check valve vs. the mechanical one? If they both stop flow of oil into the turbocharger when the engine is off, what's the benefit of the electronic one? I assume its just more affective...like a electric on/off switch...maybe the mechanical one has a lag period after engine shut down and allows some oil to flow for a moment.

I actually replaced the APS oil scavenge pump with the pump from www.turbowerx.com This pump is very similar to the mocal pump. So, you'll be fine with either one. In my opinion, these pumps are alot more efficient and reliable than the APS oil pump. It has been 3 months since the replacement.. and so far so good~ Only problem is that these two pumps(mocal, turbowerx) are bigger than the APS pump (Weldon 9200), and the piping orientation is different. So, you have to be creative with how you are going to mount it near the transmission while reusing the oil plumbings that came with APS ST.
I'm actually going to replace another APS ST pump for a buddy of mine, because his Weldon 9200 pump whines like it's about to blow up!!! So annoying and paranoid to hear it while driving.

Great info, thanks. The older APS ST is equipped with a mechanical check valve, the newer ones have electronic, as it was explained to me. The mechanical valves cab get "gunked up" easier, where as, the electronic ones regulate the oil flow more efficiently. My smoking issue was noticed recently. I notice it mostly on acceleration, I'll have to try and see where more, if any is present. The oil in the IC pipe was noticed when I had my car addressed for an unrelated issue. So it seems to be safe that replacing the pump and the ECV is way to go at this point.
