Exclamation Turbonetics and Power Steering Alert !!!

For those that are doing an install yourself, when you put the piping in make sure you check all piping and anything around it. You would think this is a no brainer but I found out the hard way.

Your aluminum power steering lines that run into the power steering rack are directly next to the piping. My lower power steering line was sitting on the piping from below and my TN piping melted it until a pinhole was created and all my power steering fluid sprayed all over my heat wrap. Smoke went everywhere.

This has happened to one other person and likewise the piping was not aligned correctly and it caused a rupture. Also a common thing for Greddy kits.

Stuff like this happens with aftermarket turbo installs. Like MIA said, it's common with more than one Z kit. That's the nature of installs on an engine. It's why you double check everything before you put the car on the road.

Glad you got it fixed though.

haha that funny because thats what happen to me. The hot side piping burned through the PS line and the fuild caught on fire . . . yes that was a fun day. Be careful you scrap the downpipe on something and it might cause the piping to move if its not tightened down well enough and you will run into problems.

Its nice to see that I am not the only one this has happened to. I thought because I installed it myself I did something wrong.

I'd like to state that again for those doing self installs. Double and triple check everything. I'm like you and wanted to install my own stuff. It was my first turbo install and I felt I did a pretty good job. Being nothing has went bad so far. But Forged did come back and change some small issues, for they went over the hole system before tuning it. No charge. That's customer service.

I agree, that is good customer service. I am going to have performance factory do my re-tune as soon as my car gets out of the shop from being rear ended 2 days after putting the turbo on. BOOOOOOO!

I am sure they will do a once over on my car as well to make sure it is in okay condition to tune. There should'nt be any problems since CFT didnt find any issues. But if there is, its going to cost me though, jeremy said a bill an hour, i guess thats a bit pricey but at least I know all the issues will be taken care of.
