I'll do them this weekend and if that doesn't fix it then I'll try re-locating the BCS or just get an EBC...

The spike is around 1 psi and only around 5000rpm-5300rpm and usually on hard shifting to 4th and 5th gear but it goes back to 8 psi past that. The spike happen only in a very small part of the RPM range so I'm not worried.
From what I understood, in open or closed, boost is much more stable when using both ports.

Where are you leaking oil?

The thing is I never had this oil leak problem before, I know Goosegoose had them when parked on an incline and re-routing the line fixed it.

I had a small oil leak initially when first started everything up because(I think) the turbine housing bolts were not tight enough. I tightened them up a tiny bit and the leak went away. Also, both my supply and return lines are routed up high. I dunno if they both are supposed to be or what because the instructions are such that I couldn't tell what they were talking about.

Yes, the lines should be route up high to act as a barrier when the car is off. I'll be re-routing the lines this weekend and see if that fix it.

STS instructs the oil return line to be routed above the rear differential to act as a plumber's trap, so that oil will not backflow from the engine to the turbo if the car remains parked on an incline, with nose pointed upwards.

/\ hope that fix the problem and I hope it didn't do any damage in my turbo.

I'm curious how will the STS perform on a fully Built Motor

So how hard would it be to just fab a rear mount kit? since STS basically just supplies all the parts from other companies and makes profit off of them? I was thinking of just buying the basic universal kit from them and then doing my own fuel system upgrade and tuning system? any ideas?

^ more pain than it's worth. No sense in doing the R&D that they have already done just to get to the same result.

Has anyone thought of jet hot coating the headers and all of the hot side piping to see if that would help at all? I am planning on doing that when I get my kit next month... I dont like the idea of heat wrap.... and jet hot also keeps the heat in the piping way better.....

Think you'll want to Jet Hot coat almost your entire exhaust PLUS wrap it to help keep the heat in

That would make a world of difference. If much is lost in the whole rear mount system it is in the exhaust piping in the form of heat loss which is energy lost.

In hind sight, when I had my car down for a really long I should have jet coated everything

Exclamation

Much has been going on in the life of my G35 lately, so I apologize beforehand for the long silence. Some of you obviously know where this is going, but I thought it might be a good idea to start here:

[STS] Engine Failure - Failed OEM Oil Pump?
Feel free to chime in.

Hmm.. Let's just say the engine failure happened two months ago, and I've spent ALOT of money since then. If all goes well, we should new numbers for you guys by the end of this Friday.

Regardless, I still want to know why my original engine failed. Every tune on the stock block was incredibly conservative, I did not think this would happen.

So does that mean you coated your new stuff?

I can't wait to see the numbers and details on the build. I wondered who would pop first and build....sorry its your $$ but I think as STS owners we have all been waiting for this to happen.

Who is doing the build? MRC?

Procurement of new motor and all supporting parts involved several companies and people, directly and indirectly, including STS, Precision Turbo, GTM, MRC, and Jet-Hot.

Long story short, the old motor was pulled, and the new motor was installed, by a local mechanic shop that I have trusted with all my daily drivers for years. All this was successfully done under the remote guidance of Sam from GTM after the new Long Block was delivered.

During the last 2 months and 3,000mi of break-in, many supporting parts were installed in preparation for the final tune. And yes, everything including the manifolds back to the turbo is Jet-Hot coated, inside and out, and Thermo-Tec wrapped, including some custom piping work I had done.

The final tune will be performed by Julian at MRC, hopefully this coming Friday.

I've been keeping my mouth shut for so long and finally you have come out!!! lol. Cant wait for you to list all the parts on that build and the power you'll be putting out. Hopefully those #'s will make you forget the big hole left in you pocket.
