Boozt, Can you post your Dyno? I want to see how the 60-1 TQ looks like with this kit.
Here you go...
Baseline was with the same amount of boost....
final run was after tune with no change in boost set between 8-9 psi.
This is a "custom" 60-1 trim. I had my orginal turbo reworked by TEC for better spool up built with a balanced assembly....
/\ Nice.. the bigger 60-1 didnt affect the TQ curve. It is even better than 60-0 trim.. What is the size of your A/R (hotside) again?
I'm gonna screw this up....so be nice I have no idea....Turbo enginering corp did a custom re-build of the original turbo that came with the kit. I told them I didn't want to slow the spool but wanted the ability to push 15 psi. They re-worked the fan, internals, etc with the orginal housing to make that happen. These guys really rock!!!!! they balance the whole assembly at crazy RPMs and build some fatastic stuff. Here is a link http://www.turboengineering.com/. Like I said....I don't know all the details but when my turbo got trashed when I blew the stock motor they built this one for me at less than the cost of a 60-1 trim from STS.
oh, so it was just a rebuild.. I thought you went out and got a 60-1 turbo. Curve look nice though and much better than the stock STS turbo.
I just told TEC that I wanted a turbo to perform like a 60-1 trim.....this is the result. I always just assumed it was a 60-1 trim based on the rebuild and changes made to the internals......But in hindsight, after doing some research, I think it pertains to the inlet and outlet of the turbo.....
I've said it a thousand times.....I am way more of a driver than tuner....
But I try to stay educated.
Hey guys gona take the car out for spring soon and I need a new clutch. The factory clutch is now slipping after one year of boost. Iam thinking of going with the ACT Street clutch and flywheel since its considered good for daily driving. Anyone using this clutch or and ideas on other clutchs people have had good experiances with.
I was using the RPS flywheel and 6 puck race clutch. It is fairly aggressive, but not terribly bad. Never had any issues with any slipping, but i also didn't put a ton of miles on the clutch. They also have other more street friendly options if your concerned about that. For the little bit of traffic i ever sat in, the 6 puck wasn't bad and was worth the extra grip. Hope that helps.
I run a 6 puck race clutch on a light flywheel........a little tough to drive for everyone but me......my wife can't stand to drive the Z now. You can decide if that is a positive or not.
lol...i think iam gona go with a street version since the stock clutch held up for a total of 3 years. Iam gona most likely go with the ACT clutch and flywheel. Thanks for the input guys.

dont go with a street version if you plan on racing especially drag. My stage 2 Competition is horrible when I launch the car real hard. They are meant for NA car that dont produce much TQ even though it is supposed to handle 80% increase in TQ and trust me it is a let down. If you are going to drive your car like a grandma and never drag your car then stay with a street version. It is really not that bad to drive it, it will take you 1 week to adjust and you'll be fine.

True...but i heard great things about the ACT...its gona run me $1100 for clutch and flywheel plus install for street and $1125 for the six puck. My stock one ran me 25000 boosted km's untill it began to slip and 100 000 km in total. Iam only running 8psi and 375 whp an 368 tq. the ACT is rated to 435 ft. lbs. Ill let u know what happens...lol
hey athenG i have a question i have the cobb ap would it be safe to use the cobb instead of the turboxs utec? I live about 6 hours from the cobb in plano,tx.
