Default APS TT Install: Oil Leak + Broken Wrench = F*cked

Well well well... fired up my motor today, it turned on... that was a good sign, then my buddy says oh **** oil leak so we cut it off. Seems to be the LHS banjo bolt is leaking on the top of the turbo... wrong washer perhaps..(spectacular)

Anyways, upon dissasembly to take off my LHS turbo in order to see what caused the leak(wanting to commit suicide in the process), I have just broken the special little short skinny 12mm wrench that aps provided to unscrew the PITA bolts, so now I cannot remove the inner frontmost bolt that mounts the turbo to the exhaust manifold...

Any suggestions? I guess all I can do is find a skinny 12mm and cut it and bend it...

Damnit. Tuner date was tommorow (tuesday).. looks like im waiting. I knew things were going too smoothly.

Ok thanks for listening im tired.

Dude, that sux! I had an oil gusher on the RHS side when I fired up my car. I forgot to tighten the bolt. I'm pretty sure I still have my skinny little wrench in the garage.

BTW are you planning to get tuned at CarbConn?

My aps supplied wrench broke halfway through the install...pos lol. Yeah man you'll just have to make your own wrench. That bolt you're stuck on just happens to be the hardest one on the entire kit to access too!

1. pull motor
2. problem solved

J/K Sorry to hear about the problems, but keep your head on. DIY installs are always a bit of a pain in the ***, but well worth the blood, sweat, and alchohol afterwards...

I plan to get it tuned at Kito Autosport by Dominic, he tunes WRX's mainly, ive heard some good things and hes very familiar with utec.

My leak seemed like a gusher too... not sure how much oil could come out so fast, was like half a quart in 8-10 seconds.. it seems that the banjo bolt is tight from what I can feel in that tiny space lol.. im hoping its either loose or the washer is too big that we used... otherwise I have no idea where that oil came from. Theres not really any other place but that and the oil return line right? It definitely came from the top of the turbo somewhere.

Anyways... im off to sears to find a wrench. Damnit! it wasnt that hard to put on but to get it off seems much harder!

First starting up (specially after having oil out) is when you'll have some pretty high oil pressure. Doesn't take much of a leak for oil at 100+ psi to start coming out fast.

APS uses banjo for the oil send lines? Seems kinda wierd

I don't think it would have been as much if you had a leak on oil return. Have any pictures? or where you able to see roughly where it was coming from?

You can make that wrench out of an old 12mm and a gridning wheel.

WELL!! After buying 50 dollars in 12mm wrenches from sears, I finally found one that works! Everything is back on and it RUNS!! Hallelujah!!

Warmed up with no leaks on the jack stands, I will do another warm up leak test tommorow morning and then its off to the tuner! :0)

Its running extremely lean at idle like 17-18.. which I thought makes no sense since I have 650cc injectors but its running on a 550cc APS Base Map... but either way it should get me 15 miles to the tuner tommorow.

And... the gauges arent working but... still.. it runs at least!

Whew. *relieved*
