Performance Factory JWT 700bb (take 2) FCON, 625whp!!
well guys, we were having some serious issues with the utec in this daytona blue 05 350z. it was definitely the worst on/off switching utec that we have ever seen. so we stepped it up to a FCon VPro. we installed the VPro with knock amp and what a difference it has made. the car is seamless in and out of the throttle and idles PERFECT. finally damnit, this car used to hunt around all day long for a constant idle.
we redid some of the JWT plumbing, did individual intakes (funny that the FP guys did the same thing at the same time on luies car
) put some nice new greddy filters on. threw the MAF in the trash and added a much need Tial 50 mm BOV.
the car is completely different now. we actually turned the boost up just a bit for the high boost map, what was a solid 15 psi map is now a 15.5 map. then we added our favorite!! C16 and turned it up to 19.5 psi!!
what fun is this, we only did a couple runs and at the top of the graph, it was dipping into the high 10s AFR over 6000 rpms, i didnt really want to beat up the motor any longer so we called it quits at 625 (600whp was the goal)
i truely believe this could be a 700 whp kit on a dynojet. with around 24 psi (if the turbos keep up) and C16 with proper tuning. i feel like it could happen...
some pics

some graphs!!
first one is the big graph, still much more room for power, AFR were still low 11s on c16, then dipped into the 10s at 6000 rpm

here are some more, here is the old high boost with the new high boost..

here is the new high boost on 93 octane

see ya today ben!!!

Looks good guys - sick car.
Two questions:
1. I noticed both Sharif and you moved to twin intakes. Any hard data to support this switch? Or is this more to just remove a theoretical bottleneck? And at what hp level do you feel it become important?
2. With no MAF, is a CEL light constantly on?

car look great at the shop. I'm sorry I missed seeing it getting dynoed.
You guys have some great stuff coming out of there....can't wait to see how your car turns out, and it should be fun to see how AJ decides to power his ride!!!

thanks guys, yeah the BOV sounds perfect!!
car is running much much smoother and drives wonderfully.
i feel that the drawthrough maf was just used so the SS box and FMU would work, then when JWT decided to step up the turbo size, they just used the current kit they had.
not sure what power levels the twin intake would actually start helping out but it sure cleaned up the engine compartment. thats why we did it for the most part.
goals this time were, get the car idling and driving perfect. get rid of the maf. clean up the engine bay and see what it will do on race gas...
thanks everyone
