Ok... I am going to be giving the GTM tension pulley a shot tomorrow.

I'll post my impressions and the installation process tomorrow afternoon...

So this is just for more tension on the belt & less chance of slipping at higher boost?

i have that pulley too but I am going to install it on the bottom side because I found a way to make the top side of the belt wrap better without the tensioner pulley

OK, Project started...

Break time.... 1st part of DIY, Make sure your drill is charged before you start this project... LOL...

Looking at this close up now I like the route GTM has done on the top, more belt will wrap the SC pulley than if you go underneath. You also do not have the room to work trying to drill thru the bracket if you go underneath and will most likely have to remove the bracket to drill it.

this is probably something alot of people wont want to do but I basically took the timrod setup and removed the first idler pulley and put the middle one back on. This gives it a sharper angle. The problem is the the little triangular cover is being rubbed by the belt. I am going to grind down the cover with just enough clearance that i can run the belt in front.

here are some pics

Ok.... done.... took her out for a test drive and wow... instant throttle response now... The belt is friggn TIGHT and was kinda a pain in the A$$ to get on and then I tightened the tensioner pulley a bit more and buttoned her back up.

That extra pulley heats up like a *****, it was frickn burning hot after my test drive.

Got to 8.8 psi on the 3.12 and she is bucking between shifts pretty good and loosing traction around corners from a stop easily.

So a question.... how tight is "too tight" on the belt?... This sounds like a high guitar string when plucked.

So far I like this alot! as long as the belt does not break from being too tight.

I'll post up a DIY in a seperate thread and link it in here.

Is that gonna shorten the life of the belt, ya think?

Ya, it might... I am prolly going to loosen it up a bit to realease some tension...

But, I can play "Stairway to heaven" on it now!
