well every thing was going good till the serp belt almost threw itself off the pulley. also the cog idler pulley loosened up and started to eat into the s/c cog pulley. Sam is going to throw a new bando belt on tommorow and rectifie the cog issue. other than that he said everything is looking promising for good power numbers. the last pull was at 5500 rpm when the belt decided to go. he logged 12 lbs of boost at 5500 rpm! he is so glad i am running 100octane..... i will keep you posted with further info as i get it. i will post some pic's here shortly. OH and Sam sent one pic of the new custom exhaust setup from the rear. he said it is rediculously loud.........

why do you run your cog idler like that? why not run the smooth pulley on teh smooth side of the belt. that seems to make more sense?

i also thought you did some crazy pulley mod as well (like the pic on page 16-- looks like a great idea!!) how could that throw the belt with extra guide pulleys? did the factory idler come loose?

12 psi at 5500 should be a beast!!

what size injectors are you using and do you have a return fuel system? i assume a walbro 255l.

i have to run my cog setup like that because i am a rev-up with a non revup cog set up. there is not a cog belt the right size to run it the traditional method. the mounting plate on the revup has different dimensions than the non revup mounting plate. i have searched for a belt that fit's properly but there is not one.
no i did not do any pulley mod's i have a revup. the revup set up is a very good setup as is. yes i have 550 injectors, cjm stage 1 fuel system and 255lph pump. page one of this thread has a full list of my mod's.

As much as everyone says that you will need a cog setup for high boost I am going to be glad that I don't have any on my car when the time comes for my high boost runs. They just seem to lead to problems.

Anyways, looks promising JET MECH! Lets hope everything goes well!

It certainly will help grind the teeth down this way!

Wonder if it had to do with the phone call JT made to Sam (as mentioned in a few posts above)

>>>> seems that AIT goes thru the roof with the SI blower......

air temps were high, waiting to if Jet's car is going to do the same thing. I'm not going to say its the blower right now, it could be something small I over looked when I reinstalled everything. Sucks drove 1000 miles Sunday for it not to work

Sam mentioned that in the conversaton we had last night about the AIT. Sam stated that my AIT's looked fine so far and the blower was not getting abnormaly hot (you could still touch it with your hand after the pulls). possibly due to my oil cooler i have installed. and due to the s/c oil cooler i fabricated and installed.

how are you routing your oil return back to the engine. oil pan spacer or the way vortech suggests with the fitting in the upper oil pan?

the Si-trim should not be getting hotter! per the specs of the blower it is more efficient than the Sc-trim,has a higher rpm rating to it's peak efficencey and is rated at 78% isentropic efficiency versus the Sc-trim at 73%. this does not make sense? what is your cog setup, serp size and what rpm are you running it to? if you are running a 34 j/s cog 28 s/c cog and 2.87 to 6600 rpm you are overspeeding the blower quite a bit.

My blower did not seem to hot at all, it was warm but not bad at all. The AIT would stay low untill the upper RPMs (think it was around 5000 rpms) and then they jumped up.

Could you keep me updated with the AIT. I would like to know if its the S/C or something I did.

it shouldn't be getting hotter, but c'mon guys, you're pushing those blowers way hard.

peak efficiency doesn't mean a lot without seeing the compressor chart. I will bet my house you guys are both outside the peak efficiency range with how much boost you're using. You probably reach that peak 78% at around 8-9 psi around redline - meaning if you weren't spinning the blower nearly as hard and backed the pulley off a lot

IMO an intercooler upgrade and/or water/meth and/or more displacement are going to be needed to get the air temps lower. Me personally, I wouldn't even consider a larger blower without at least one of those things

stock cog pulleys and we used a 2.87 pulley and then a 3.12 pulley. We did not get over 6500 rpms
