However, I can also see me being one of the unlucky bastards to try a blower combo that has some major issues.

2.87 / 3.33 = .862 * 14 psi = 12 psi! And kablam, it's that easy
However, his was at 6,600 i think, so if i set my rev limiter to something more like 6,200, it would still be above 11psi :-/

here's the thing, the nismo exhaust and stillen Y-pipe probably don't flow as much as some of these guys here who have headers, test pipes, dual exhaust, cams etc.
your psi could easily be 13-14 psi at 6600 rpms with the 3.33 pulley with Si-trim
and even if you limited your rpms to like 4000 rpms or where ever you hit 8 psi at, 8 psi at 4k rpms will be harder on the engine than 8 psi at 6600 rpms
IMO it'll just not be worth it
The SC-trim is probably going to be easier to get into and work your way up, especially if you're new to FI

ya psi doesnt tell you much at all about the power your are putting down.
run stock exhaust with stock cats and sure you'll see hi psi, but HP wont be near the same.
so far 3 people have went to get the Si's tuned and so far 3 have no results (1 still waiting, 1 unable to properly tune bc of high AIT, and 1 blown).
Obviously the SC trim is the easier route. If you arent going injectors, walbro pump, utec or better, dual exhaust, hi flow cats/test pipes, possibly a meth kit/oil cooler, might as well stay with the normal SC trim. Its tuning path is proven and predictable.

the Si trim will be perfect for a stock motor to get more hp out of it...[/QUOTE]
this may be a good thing for me. plus Sam mentioned something about the stock compression being better for this application. i am running 100 octane thank god...................

are you saying that the stock motor can handle 16 psi if set-up and tuned correctly?

seeing that unit has been rebuilt 4 times im wondering if this AIT problem is isolated to that one unit. Sam informed me during his pulls he did not encounter high AIT problems what so ever. that's weird? Sam was seeing 12 psi at 5500 rpm. i am a rev-up and possibly have more breathing mod's.I will just have to wait and see. supercharger should be going back on tommorow.

16 psi on a 3.5 liter engine will be more like 10 psi on a 5.6
so 16 psi on 5.6 would be a ton of power

Dont mean to highjack but I have a question that I want to get your guys attention on because I trust most oppions on this thread. I think my blower is going bad again (5th time) and I was wondering if I wanted to get a loan for a motor build is that something I just go to the bank for? I have tier 1 credit. What would be the best way to approach a loan for this. Sick of always worring about the motor life and sick of sending that blower back to Vortech. Want some new wheels too. hehe

if you own a house, you can get a 2nd mortgage line of credit. Interest is around 8%, but 1/3 of that you get back since the interest is tax deductable.
or can always apply for a 0% credit card that stays at 0% until 6-12 months or whatever, then goes up to whatever normal high %. If you have a 2nd mortgage, you can then use that to pay off the balance when the interest kicks in.
I've never gone into a bank for a flat out normal loan though, so I don't know much about that

Thanks Sentry. Yeah I dont think I could talk the wife into getting a mortgage loan. I might try the credit card thing. They send me checks all the time for up to 8k but I always tear them up. Don't know what the interest would be.
