When I last spoke to Paul, he said wasn't going to be able to pick up the car until this coming weekend. So, who knows when the dynos will be available

Sentry say's

"My car is mostly driven on the street as it turns out. Why does it need to be "proven" at the track?"

Because Your advertised power #'s do not seem credible. Until you can back them up with track times doubters will challenge you.

No word from Sam yet. I know he had to pull the supercharger out to replace the s/c cog pulley due to it getting chewed up. plus some custom pulleys are being fabbed to help keep the serp belt on. will keep you guys informed as soon as i here from him. dealing with the Si-trim is like dealing with a T-trim. they appear to have almost the same output as well as belt issues....... i know you will get a kick out of that one Booger!!!!!!!!

Bye the way in sentry65's defense he is putting down those power figures. Sam and i have talked about his setup on a couple of occasions. what ever sentry is doing he is doing it right! Sam is even impressed on that vortechs output on a stock block. i have pm'ed sentry on may occasions and he has been nothing but helpfull and freindly........

I'm sure Sam will get the bugs ironed out and get some good numbers
I suspect you'll have a pretty beefy tq curve

AAM, Performance Factory, CP Racing, and GTM have all done similar SC-trim vortech setups with around 450-465whp and 365-375 tq. Their dynos were posted here and on G35driver.
It's not like I have a some exotic setup or anything. Nor is it an unbeatable one.
I'm sure JET MECH and all the Si/T-trim people will potentially make more power than me if things work out right for them.

I've stated before that my GTM runs were done when it was 60 degrees outside.
If it was SAE correction instead of STD, it probably would be like 4whp less or so just from that.
The GTM dyno had a small mini spike at the end that accounted for a few whp that are probably not really there.
So maybe on someone else's dynojet, I'd put down 460-465whp? who knows...

I've also dynoed on dyno-dynamics before getting GTM tuned with my Fcon back when I had a fuel pressure issue preventing me from making more power above 6000 rpms.
Before 6000 rpms, the two graphs are awfully similar
I suppose none of it is enough evidence for some people though...

interesting. those issues must just be rev-up related bc i'm am not having a problem keeping my belts on, chewing up cogs, or slipping the serp with my non-revup

The only thing I see is maxxed IDC, but I am also probably too rich.

A 5TH gear pull to red line on a dyno is different than driving on the street running it through the gears. get on the high way throw it in fifth maintain 2500 rpm then floor it and hold it there till red line. then you will see what will really happen.

exactly

this is one reason turbo dynos done in 5th gear look so huge in the low rpms despite it not being how people would actually drive a car - they're all "artifical" graphs to some degree

people just laugh when you ask them to drive like that in real life, hence the 50-70mph in 6th gear thread I started way back

yeah exactly! then you will see what the weak link is on your setup! if there is one. a 5th gear pull up to red line is the most stress you can put on that supercharger system. plus it has plenty of time to get hot as hell!

+1 on the heat issues.

Hey guys,

Quick question - what would you estimate the psi output of an Si trim blower with the 3.33 pulley? I'm looking to buy a Vortech kit with UTEC and injectors (no fuel return), and it might end up being an Si trim. However, it will be used on a stock block so I don't want to go much above the 8 psi of the SC trim w/ 3.33 right off the bat. However, when I get the tuning stuff down, it would be fun to get the 3.12 on there.

I just called Vortech, and since the Si upgrades aren't really "sanctioned", they couldn't provide the numbers with the 3.33 pulley because it hasn't been tested. He just said that I should look around on my350

Thanks,

- Jon

well if the stock SC-trim blower does around 8 psi with the 3.33 pulley, I'd suspect the Si-trim would be higher
I'd guess around 10-12psi?

i would say dont do it yet till we see the outcome with some of these other blowers LIKE MINE! this may not be a good thing unless you throw alot of cash at it.

I don't see what's so wrong with a SC-trim with a 2.87 pulley as an initial upgrade path.

It's a setup that's been working great for many people for years now and around 150whp or so extra power over NA
