Hal, great data and 30 whp at 8 psi at 6300 rpm is nothing to sneeze at. If you have the data for different psi settings, that would be interesting to see if the gain is proportional to boost... Nice job!

I might have missed it in an earlier post, but I didn't see a chart for gains on a 2003 stock Z (non RevUP). Curious to see if the gains are similar to the stock 06'... It looks so sexy though!

Take care

Good point Sentry.

If the dyno data files can be exported to excel, the dyno data can be analyised in exacting detail for average power per gear. (For any given redline limit.)

That would be the best way to really know the comparative results.

----

Hal,

Any observations on butt dyno results? Throttle responsiveness?

----

Everyone,

If you feel it is inappropriate for me to post in this thread just let me know.
I'm not here to make any problems for a competitor, but I am curious to see what this new plenum does.

I promise to be fair and professional.

I'm glad you're here. Because if anyone can figure out how to make improvements to this plenum, it's you. How about some 5/16th spacers for those carbon fiber endcaps.

J/K everyone!

so can anyone answer whether the velocity stacks can be adjusted or not? Otherwise, what's the point of removable end caps?

True but it only gained 10whp from a Spacer. A lot of people including me already has a spacer and looking for an alternative. I'm not sure if it's worth it for people who currently have Mrev/spacer. JMHO.

is the boosted TN car a 2005 rev up engine or non-rev up engine? 2005 had both regular VQ's and rev ups. I'm assuming it's a track or 35th anniversary model if you're talking about going to 7000 rpms?

...another thing to consider, the rev up lower plenum's goal was exactly this same sort of thing where it begins to make more power above 6000 rpms but losing power below 6k. That would be a cheap alternative for rev-up people who'd want to swap their lower plenum with the big hp people who want a rev-up lower plenum to make more power to 7500 rpms

and guess where mine is going as soon as we do a baseline? Right up to my engine build to put it on the bench and see where we can improve it, if at all

glad we've at least got some data to go on and I look forward to contributing whatever I find out for the more hardcore NA among us

And if you ready the post again, you notice that I'm basically saying a "baller" makes dumb purchases.

Does anyone have any thoughts or theories as to why it gained HP/TQ throughout the rpms on the NA setup but lost all of that midrange TQ in the boosted setup?

Xlr8r,

I believe the NA setup was a comparison of the REVUP lower plenum against the Cosworth. (Note: The REVUP lower plenum, by design, exchanges midrange power for a small boost at the high end.) So the results come as no surprise.

But yes, this is an interesting and perplexing comparison.

On a NA REVUP engine, the Cosworth looks somewhat like a MREV/spacer setup. The Cosworth made good midrange gains and dropped off slightly at the high end. ...this comparison makes the Cosworth look like a lower frequency tune plenum.

On a FI NON-REVUP engine, the Cosworth looks somewhat like a REVUP lower plenum?... It lost midrange gains and made good gains at the high end. ...this comparison makes the Cosworth look like a higher frequency tuned plenum.

So far, the data seems contradictory, but it may not be contraditory at all. When working from the established paradigme of what we already know about intake plenum mods, trends and performance, this new Cosworth may not be in the same universe of plenum performance rules. It may have its own set of rules.

A lot more testing may be needed to really know what the Cosworth plenum is all about.

My guess is that the Cosworth will shine on a Z/G with 450+ whp @ 12 + psi.

When you get yours, be sure to install it on the dyno.
