the thread was not started as a "lets diagnose the problem" - it was started to thank someone who helped Randy out. I'd suggest leaving it at that

Can we not even have a thank you thread here in FI w/o some kinda ********? How many people need to be banned before everyone figures this out?

I'm not going off topic. I keep getting all of these mystery theories about what went wrong that I did not ask for. Its good to hear, but I didn't ask for it.
Otherwise, I have said repeatedly that I am quite grateful to MRC and Greddy for both helping me when they didn't have to.

That's it. End of Story.

There are lots of combinations of bearings that these motors will accept...I forget the total number of permiatations there are but it's more than your average motor for sure. It's very easy to make an "oops" during assembly, and install the wrong one. While it probably would never rear its head during normal use, as soon as you put any sort of meaningful boost through it and things get up to temperature, the nasty stuff starts happening.

Which 2 rod bearings and which 2 mains failed?
sorry didn't read anything after this post, but what is said is very true. nissan makes the codes so you have to "decode" it twice and the markings are not extremely clear or even follow with the code. the clearance issue (going with stock block clearances or bearings) will not guarantee the crank is running straight either. clearance is fairily tight compared to other motors, so if the wrong top or bottom is used based on crank clearance, and straigthness is not factored, a permanent crank bend is preloaded. this factor would run strong in a constant high rpm motor though, and would be hardly noticeable in a street engine, even with intermitent high cylinder pressures.
now rod bearing failure is usually a derivative of another problem. normally a mis-calc from the manufacturer of the rods or the bearings. unless, material from the main bearings tore up the rod bearings on their way through the oil passage. just need to see if it is grouped.

now that i went back, i guess i missed the drama. but yes, the boards have been filled with drama more than car info for about a year now. everyone wants to jump on an internet boat and talk bs about things they know nothing about.

after knowing that it still makes no sence. engine inspection after a failure is crucial to finding the prob. pull out the magnifying glass! it is sometimes hard to figure out what happened first, but the outcome always has a start. wish i could help more, but ya'll across the country, lol.

Got the turbos back a while ago. Looking good. They replaced all of the seals and things should be good.
Thank you GREDDY!

Hey Julian, just got my motor back, looking forward to throwing it in the car tomorrow Monday since I'm off for President's day. Gotta make the most of my downtime.
