Default Any FI guys running HFC's?

I was wondering if any FI guys were running HFC instead of test pipes. Maybe its just me, but when I'm sitting at a stop light, since my car is tuned to the rich side for safety, there is a very noticeable smell and a very faint light smoke when the sun hits it just right. I know HFC's will fix my problem but has anyone ran into any problems using HFC with your FI other then power loss?

The High Flow Cats i would like to buy are the Berk Metallic HFC's with the wide band holes pre drilled. Any opinions on these are greatly appreciated.

Berk is too small for much over 400 whp. You will get a good drop in power. You have the EvoTT exhaust now? Built engine? If you really don't want more than 400, they should be fine.

I initially has FastIntentions HFC, 300 cell metallic. They were nice but power dropped off fast after 12 psi (420 whp on Sharif's DD dyno). So then I went with APS test pipes (3.5") and got a huge boost in power, but the fuel smell in enclosed spaces (like in my garage) became terrible (I run 14.5-14.7 at idle). So now I'm having ForgedPerformance insert (as in weld in) 200 cell metallic cats into the APS test pipes (custom made and fit). Not cheap and not easy, but it's what I decided I needed.

Well I don't really want over 400whp anyway. So maybe the berk if the way to go. I have the Intense.com resonated test pipes now.

I believe they have a 200 cell metallic version. The metal substrate is more suited for FI applications. Although only a 2.5" pipe, it should be fine for 400 whp.

Even with your custom cats from Sharif you are still expecting to drop a little power aren't you?

Well yes - kind of hard to beat a 3.5" test pipe for flow. Thing is my exhaust was a FastIntentions 2.5" true dual before. Now I'm switching to an EvoTT (2.75" true dual). I'm also modifying the air intake and/or manifold to hopefully increase efficiency there also. I'm hoping the gains will outweigh the loss. We'll see - my goals are reasonable.
