New Jersey is next weekend. Finally get to stay home for a weekend

That would probably be a good idea to have a cone or sign saying

1. "Stock Brakes start braking here."

2. "BBK start braking here."

3. "If you haven't started braking bail now."

We have a total of 3500 FEET, our plan is to have a 1000' feet for stoping and that leaves 2500" feet of racing.

This is a Calculation for a generic Car with good traction.

If you have very good traction then u = 0.8

If you're traveling at a speed of Velocity @ 150 mph or 219.99 feet per second.

Your Distance=940.83 ft to come to a stop.

The Z/Gs that are lighter and have a BBK will probably need less room.

http://www.csgnetwork.com/stopdistcalc.html

Under the same conditions

if velocity = 160 mph, distance to stop = 1070 ft
if velocity = 170 mph, distance to stop = 1208 ft
if velocity = 180 mph, distance to stop = 1354 ft

If you want to stop in exactly 1000 ft max speed is 154.65 mph

So what you're saying is you better not be doing more than 150-160 when you reach the 2,500' mark or you could have a bad day....Sorry I didn't see the last part

Unless you can speed up to 160+mph in less than 2,500 ft ( 0.47 miles ) yeah I wouldn't push it.

Also if traction is less than stellar you're looking at much lower SAFE top speed.

say u = 0.6

@ 133.93 mph it would take a 1000 ft. to stop.

Anyone interested in trying this theory out on behalf of the Z community.

I'd say with a BBK, full treaded quality tires one of our Z/Gs could do it.

Does pulling a parachute disqualify my car?

To be safe we should have signs or flags that call out the distance. The winner should probably be declared at 2000 feet to leave a safety margin. We'll have to get out there and see. I have a for sale sign that you stick in the ground, but I don't think it will fit in my trunk!

Injected or Forged - do you have a large sign or flag on a pole that can be stuck into the ground?

Maybe just cones? Anyone have cones?

I will talk to Sharif and make sure some one brings something. Want to make sure it is safe of course.

Damn, either the Lambo brakes suck bad or someone forgot to push them to the floor!

Nope, Hal says it doesn't need it and he forgets. Didn't even pull it on the 163mph run. I hope he continues not to so I don't have to wrap it back up and shove it in the pack before the next round.

No one will get to 200 mph in 2000-2500 feet (except the green monster of course, which may do an exhibition run if we're lucky ). But 1500 braking distance to start seems reasonable and if that turns out to be excessive we can extend the course. Keep in mind the airport is at elevation 2000 ft., not sea level.

All this talk about racing and going fast is getting me pumped....Man I hope my car is ready. Even though I cancelled my room reservation, I'll sleep in my car if I have to.
