That is exactly what I thought. I have called them once before everyone started, then I bowed out until I knew what everyone was thinking. They called me, lol.

I may just pay that night unless we get solid commitment, but a 5-10 dollar discount isn't really worth it, if you ask me. I will take my chances for that thursday.


**on a side note, I took my car to the dyno on Saturday, filling up with 93 octane (up to 10% ethanol), and my car took a crap on me on the dyno!!! Knocking like crazy and lost 58 whp!!!! I had to leave it at the shop to drain the tank and refill with a better (no ethanol) fuel! No updates, but after a compression test came back perfect, hopefully no damage was done.

this has been a public service announcement, if you have filled up or have a tune with no ethanol fuel and you fill up with fuel that contains this ethanol, be very careful. I can't shrink my pdf file enough to post it, but if anyone wants to see it I could email it to you.

I use Shell or Chevron...I have not seen it at their pumps YET !!! But I will stay away from the "10% crap" until someone states that its not harmfull to FI's

 

I am not sure, but the only places that I can find now that don't have it is phillips 66 and a few Shell stations.

I have been doing a little research and in most states gas stations do not have to acknowledge the use of ethanol!!! Thankfully Ga isn't one of them.

I always thought that ethanol inhanced the octane rating but this isn't necessarily true! Ethanol has a shelf life of 1-2 weeks and then it begins to condensate (produce moisture!!!!)! think about that most people that fill up in gas get 87 low octane and it makes me wonder how long 93 sets before it gets to your tank. Ethanol when mixed in lower percentages actually can lower the octane level by 1-4 octane and effect fuel mileage by up to 20%!
