You guys know Sharif put a built 5AT with paddle shifters in his Z, right? 6MT -> 5AT swap. It was his secret weapon, but I felt it only fair to disclose before people start calling him out...

+1 ...... This is why me having more HP than Raj will be a disadvantage to me unless we can also do a roll from 50+.

Looking at the picture of the airport...there is an access point onto the runway that could be use to get more speed. You start off in a straight line ( one car behind the other) until you enter the runway...then move into position before the start cone. Just a thought. I have done alot of events like this.

This wont be a problem for me at the "2nd Annual Forged Injected Performance Big Dawg Airport Event." .....I will have my stand alone traction control installed by FP by then.....and then I will be calling out Raj

I know if Sharif went to 5AT...he would not have the ***** to run it on the road race track....he would down shift into the tire barrier

In fact maybe a 1st gear roll would be better - gotta get you guys to go through all the gears!

I don't see an entry point like you are talking about. Are you looking on Google maps? (Damn clouds are in the way at one end). There's a dirt road/grass entrance at one end and a gate way off to the side at the other end. No way to pick up any kind of speed. I think we'll have to see if it'd help when we do some practice runs.

Just so there are no surprises, my "street tires" have "M/T DRAG" on the side of them. Don't start posting new rules at this late date. If someone posted that it was a street tire only event in the beginning, I missed it. I always "assumed" it was a run what you bring event

Oh yeah, and the planned exit to come back around is unpaved for a short segment, so your hot sticky tires are going to stick like glue to the dirt. It is your choice, of course. As long as you drive it to Hendersonville, NC, it'll work. I was thinking of ET Streets also, but decided to not sacrifice handling for the rest of the weekend on the twisties (and I didn't want to impregnate my tires with gravel).

We could start from the gate in front of the parking lot, but I can see someone getting excited and not staying in their lane for that left turn. That would suck.

I'll have a set of drag rims/tires on hand - but I don't think there will be much of a benefit from a 40mph roll...
