So I guess most of the problems are stock blocks, is it worth getting a long block over just a short if im going to go FI soon?(550-600rwhp)

In my opinion.... it all depends on your tune and how much you are boosting... some people just drive the car too hard. If you look at the +12 psi's...most if not all of them blew there engine. Get a good tune...have a good engine.

sticky threads generally without fail get ignored after a while. noobs don't even bother to look at stickies most of the time because they're not "bold". Just subscribe or tell people to check the top 100 questions thread, since the link is in there.

Halfass872: Stillen Blower, Stage 3 @ 7 PSI., 51,000 miles on stock block when installed. 4,200 hard miles on her in the past year since installed. No drama whatsoever!! Cheaped out and installed everything by myself.

Soon-to-be: stock motor with POWERLABS ST. I will post my experiences soon.

It might be interesting to see how supporting mods are figuring into 'stock motor longevity'. I am doing a Nismo therm and GReddy radiator, no oil cooler.

Votech, 2.87, 12psi, 380whp, Utec, 550cc, Walbro 255lhp, - Kaboom at the track. Do not let you tuner tell you that 12:1 AFR is acceptable, cause its not on a stock motor at 12psi.

is it my imagination or are there more failed motors with the same or greater torque than HP.(400hp/+400ftlbs).

Ferrari uses 750hp/+-350ftlbs could this be the reason they can rev so high and stay together?

^ kinda see gasoline engines are limited by the valves in the heads thats why you run more hp then tourqe not like i na diesal where you may have 450hp and 7or 800 fout pounds of tourqe they can do it becasue of there being no valves to push the air threw

i think this is bout half right correct me where im wrong

They still have valves but its the very high compression they run that helps with a desiel's power not to mine the stroke and such.

hp is a product of torque. A diesel is designed to produce a HUGE amount of torque at a VERY low rpm. I believe the formula is torque x rpm/5252 = hp. 5252 is an rpm at where hp and tq always cross on a dyno graph, so when a diesel makes 700wtq at 2200 rpms and redlines at 4k, well there you have it. Hope that helped somewhat...
