Vortech SC, bypass valve not functioning?
I don't know if i have a pressure leak somewhere or if the bypass valve isn't unctioning anymore. Yesterday the jet sound most vortech installs have went away.
Insted of the loud release of air pressure it sounds more like a tire leaking air as it's driven down the road. Has anyone had issues with this?

I did, checked the vacuum hose from the fuel presure regulator going into the bypass valve and on up to the intake. even removed the bypass valve to ee if i could manually open and close the valve.

Your not going to screw it up by pushing on the valve and opening it ! Its just a spring you would be compressing .
Check all your vacuum hoses , and your intercooler pipes and couplers

Its not just a spring, theres a manifold.

I have mine I may sell . It does have the lighter spring in it . It opens and closes sooner than the heavier spring . The shop just took it off and replaced it with the huge one on Vortech's site .

Ya, make sure you dont push the new one.
i'd send it back to vortech for a repair. It will be way cheaper than buying a new one.

Your BOBPV must have been screwed up or faulty to begin with when you pushed in on it . Your not going to screw it up pushing in on the valve . Think about it , its the exact same thing it does when on your car .

if it didnt matter, why would they tape a HUGE warning sticker on the bottom of a new BPV and explicitly says not to manually push in.
ive never opened mine up, so i do not know what the valving looks like. But it worked, pushed in valve to reseat the o-ring, and it didnt seal.
Vortech confirmed by saying valve was messed up.
Again, not saying you are wrong, that's just not my experience

Thw rebuilt one has been on a week now. Definately a lot louder than before, don't know if the threads on the adjustment screw are set the same as the old one. Good thing is that they replaced the bell housing with a red one instead of the blue on that was on there, matches the car better
