Safe to run 2.87 pulley w/440cc Injectors?
Currently running:
Vortech (non-revup)
3.12 pulley
Walbro 255
RC 440's
UTEC
Other mods:
Crawford upper plenum
revup lower plenum
Invidia G200 exhaust
350Evo 3.9FD
To be installed soon:
2.87 pulley
Helix V2 test pipes
Timrod beltfix
ACT clutch/flywheel
Is it safe to run the 2.87 with the 440's? I hear of all these issues with people running the Vortech and UTEC when they go with bigger injectors like 550 or 650.

I've been running the 550cc Deatschwerks for over 2,000 miles with the UTEC, 3.12 pulley, RevUp, Walbro, CJM Stage 2, etc. etc. etc. (see sig). The UTEC has handled everything smoothly with the larger injectors.
I think it all comes down to the quality of the tune.

Since the UTEC is a piggyback, it only controls the A/F ratio in boost, and cannot scale the injectors. I've seen multiple complaints about how people (or their respective tuner/s) can't seem to get larger injectors to run smoothly. Mainly having to give it gas to get it started, rough idle, etc...
Thanks for your input! Hopefully more people can chime in with their experience too, either way...

Other people have said that also. There is some control as you do need to make corrections to you maps in VAC also.
The Split Second Box is a piggyback. You do need to adjust the values at start up and idle.
I have a 2003 non rev-up, 2.87 pulley, headers, test pipes and exhaust with 440cc injectors. There modified stock injectors from Deachworks and they work fine. I'm using the Vortech stock fuel system and stock pump.

i cant imagine how you woudl run any decent HP with 440 injectors on a 2.87 pulley. My 600cc injectors were high 90% on a subpar tuned SC trim vortech.
You have the injectors, so its easy enough to tell if they are too small when you tune it.
