Default Why so pesimistic with the ATI Procharger?

I have been reading threads about the ATI procharger...Why are people only expecting low 13's with the ATI procharger? I know Horsepower / weight ratio isnt everything, but a 3100 pound Z06 with 335 RWHP is capable of mid 12's...So a 3180 pound ATI 350Z with 380 RWHP should be capable of very low 12's.

Anyone have a dyno chart of a ATI 350Z? Hopefully this badboy's torque peaks at under 3000 RPM, and remains flat beyond 5500 RPM.

You can see the dyno in the original Procharger post:

Bottom two intersecting lines are stock, top lines are with the Procharger.

Personally, I don't think getting into the 12s will be a problem. Everybody is probably just trying to be conservatively optimistic; you know, don't hex it.

When Procharger ran their car at the track they hit 13.2 with 5 psi of boost, with just one pass at the track. I'm sure the numbers would be better if they ran it a little more. So I can say that 7 psi which is what their kit is set at will get you in the 12's

While the estimates are conservative now, you can't just say, "Since the Corvette did it with 335 hp, the Z will do it with 380 hp."

I'm sure the car will be capable of 12's, but you have to remember that more that just HP and weight go into the equation. The Corvette did that with all OEM matched parts. Just popping on a Procharger is going to expose the problem of traction in the Z. Plus, I dont' know that the gearing in the Z is comparable to the Corvette.

I'm sure it will hit 12's, but low 12's is probably not feasible with just the Procharger.

The ProCharger Z has ran a 13.12 @ 109mph at 5psi with a 2 intercooler, and the prototype C1 charger. It was on Nitto NT555 275/30ZR19 tires, I certainly would not say they hook up all that great, and the stock clutch seemed to slip a little after trying to get a good burnout out of it. Since then, the blower has been changed to a C2 (bigger/better trim impeller for the 3.5liter dissplacement), the boost is up to 7psi, and it has a 3 core intercooler. It makes better power now, but has yet to get back to the track. The stock clutch is still okay, but it will be replaced with a better one real soon. High 12's with just a blower should not be unrealistic at all.

sorry for babbling.... lol!
Just wanted to shed a little light on the subject.

if it was running with the 17in Drag Radial, it would have been in the 12's already... I remember reading someone spray 100shot ran a 12.49? that is just 100hp more than stock!
