I forget now - what kind of cams and plenum you have Dil? A pressure relief plate is always a good idea with any kind of methanol/nitrous injection. Talk to Joe K. about why the BOV switch for Luie fixed the backfire issue. I'd love to hear his theory on that (or why he decided to try it).

I am running a Cosworth and a Scott performance stage 2 cam, with a greddy type rs bov. I also asked Sharif about the backfire issue, he stated that I had nothing to worry about, and the greddy rs would be more than fine. But I was also curious on this matter as well, after seeing what happend to Luie.

Oh Yes alot different!.
As far as a meth mix I am always up for new things.
If blowing a plenum is a problem, then yes I guess you can say I had 1 issue.

The kit I am running is by Alkycontrol. PM Joe Kenefic put the kit together and with all the parts it around 600 to 700. Joe was the first with this kit, I then had Joe install mine , and I believe Alberto has had Sharif install his. I love it except blowing the plenum but I think that was just a freak ting???? I have gone thru 10 gallons thru my kit.

the methanol concept is so simple no need for a extra thread. Plain and simple it acts as a octane booster while also cooling. So you can run a leaner a/f and aggressive timing. Also its cheaper than race gas.
The best bang for the buck great kit is the snow performance kit, if anyone needs one pm me I have a direct supplier on those.

are there any possible issues you can run into running meth? how do you monitor your meth reservoir, is there a gauge or do you have to visually check it so often? what if you run out of meth while driving? damn im a noob but im curious.. we really do need a meth FAQ sticky.

A full tank of methanol will last me pry about 2-3 full tanks of gas. I monitor it manually, If you run out you are screwed... and your car can possibly detonate. Each kit comes with a control unit, mine for example acts together with haltech and comes on by it self. All I have to do is turn on the switch, and whe the meth spray's my green indicator light goes off.
Bottom line is always make sure you have enough methanol when running the car hard on your methanol map or else your screwed.

The best Water/Alky setup is the Aqua Mist HFS-5. A lot of the suby and evo guys are using them and have had great success with them. Its probably one of the most advanced setups out there and has many great failsafe features and can run straight meth without corrosion problems.
Here is a FAQ link by Richard Lamb who works for Aquamist

Here is a link with the description of the unit.
