13.9 with tires and 13.6 with new plenum!

YW,

Yeah I will do N20 and non N20 runs blown.

As for whether HP was still climbing in 3rd when we hit the rev limiter you should ask Bill these technicals I'm pretty sure it was it never went flat in 3rd it kept climbing and the rev limiter was the issue as was speed even in 3rd. In 3rd at least you hit the rev limiter before you hit the top speed limiter this is not the case for 4th anymore, as it was when stock. HIGHER REV LIMITER!
I have always dynoed in the 1-1 gear so this is all new to me.
3rd IS NOT the 1-1 gear on an Auto. What is it on a manual?

A seriuos answer I am looking for is what is the closest *anyone* with this Z and this charger has came to 7lbs of boost? I hit 6.3 maybe even 6.4 max, never above 6.4 though. Anyone?

Default Procharger

Here is the last DYNO run. I was told the green run is the Stillen run I mentioned in an earlier post with only a 32 RWHP gain and 10 Lbs of Torque.

Spencer can elaborate on that at any time. We don't have 93 octane here just 91. I can get 100 at the track but I am not convinced it doesn't through the timing out of whack yet.

I believe Mike runs 93 in the car...possibly 94 if there is a Sunoco station around. I have one near my house and run 94 in my Z all the time

We did 358rwhp on 93 and a slightly modified exhaust (muffler removed) and the Z is a 6MT. Again, that number is untuned. Hopefully Mike will throw it back on the dyno next week and squeeze some more power out of it.

Max, as far as running 100 octane goes, it would allow you to run more boost and thats pretty much it. It has no effect on your timing whatsoever. Higher octane gas burns slower and therefore allows for more boost to be run safely without detonation. Timing is determined by the ECU.

I wonder what kind of numbers we will see with 6mt, full dual exhaust, straigh pipes (no cats), Nismo headers and 9psi.
I want my kit already

Those hickup dips like you have as it climbed is exactly as was on one of my runs. FMU settings corrected it. That or it was false KR.
We either leaned it out or fattened it, not sure. If it was KR (false) then we could move the KR wire and use different settings and get HIGHER NUMBERS!

Ask your mechanic if that hick up at the end of your run could possibly be false KR please this is an issue I am seriuosly pursuing!

Please and thanks. P.S. Met Jeff today, nice guy he took pics of my setup.

P.S. You can't attach mpegs but someone here can host it for you then you can link to it! yeah man do it!

My expensive Olympus uses Apple Quick Time for videos unfortuntely

Default possibly 1 more day

My install may be done tomorrow, I was told. I am not at altered atmosphere with Mike. I am in Nashville, TN. My install is being done at Crawford Z, by Doug. (Home of the Crawford Plenum). I spoke with Mike at altered atmosphere, and I plan on getting the ECU flashed there, with the larger injectors, different pistons @ 8.5:1, etc. Mike said he hasn't cracked the codes yet to do this however, although he is optomistic. Meanwhile, I am looking into the piggyback ECU setup mentioned earlier. It looks like it would do the trick as well. If anyone knows if the piggyback system can map the a/F for FI applications let me know.

Max, still have not found the 35 shot injector for the NOS. Have you ?

Sorry my quote feature is fubbared again if you can't tell.

The N20 Jet Info is classified until after September for a deal I am in in the racing section with someone who keeps all their mods secret that I plan on beating by keeping some extras in my back pocket. You can make jets though just order blank and you need a tap/die and also, tell Doug I said hi good people!

P.S. Spencer what boost were you at with max HP and why did you take off the muffler? Mike's Z is the "East Coast one I just was waiting for you to say it yourself.

So now comes more back pressure questions. What was your boost level and exhaust temp before removing the muffler obviuosly you removed it for a reason. I like to call it "headroom
" although others just want to see a 400RWHP Dyno instead. I want details of A/F Exhaust temps and boost level I personally (having driven the DEEP 12 maybe 11.9 car) I really don't care if it was 330 pr 430 I want to resolve back pressure and Boost level issue that you may be able to help in.

I'm a little confused so I was hoping you could help clear some things up.

Is the procharger a "plug and play" kit? I mean, how much post-install tuning is required?

I would think that once bought and installed, it would be pretty much ready to run at near maximum levels.

"I would think that once bought and installed, it would be pretty much ready to run at near maximum levels."
------------------------------------

That just isn't gonna happen. It's nice to think it would but it also says you can do the install in 10 hours too hehe.

:-)

Look at my Dyno, that 23 means 23 runs. the 5 is stock runs. 98.5

The better the timing the higher the boost was my consensus but my exhaust is opened not stock. We need some bone stock numbers *with* an exhaust temp reading!
----------------------

you gotta love that it matches your car now!!!

;-) Yeah True Blue with 150ish shot!

Is there an intercooler with horizontal fins out that has an inlet and outlet on the same endtanks? The would definitely prefer that over the vertical fins.

I got a ticket driving away from FFP the day of the install. I will go to traffic school I think. It was Yuba County 77 in a 60.
I was going with the flow of traffic they just need revenue. He actually nailed me going higher approaching 90 he said but he saw my license and I got out and we talked awhile and he put me down for 77. They had about 4 people pulled over, they do it daily there. If I wasn't such an upstanding citizen with a high speed limiter I would have taught his Z28 what a SC does at the top end (J/K)

They keep their Z28's stock for waranty purposes this time arounf, no HO (little known fact.)

I am nixing the NOS.

I have two other components at about 700 tota; for both that will give me 6 tenths. That's my plan plus I have a buyer for some of my ZEX stuff I retained. If he buys it as he says then it's history and I will go more boost and a TC.

Problem is where to mount the tranny cooler after you see your engine bay with the SC in it. NO MORE ROOM!

MaxHax (or any of you SC Z owners), are you considering changing the stk cams for some aftermarkets ones? Should make a nice difference since you've gone FI now.

Not sure about the boost levels, I'll have to ask Mike when he gets a spare minute.

As far as eliminating the muffler, we did that to eliminate the restriction. We hacked it off and welded on a straigt pipe with a tip on it. MUCH less restrictive than that muffler setup. Other than that, the exhaust is still stock. Makes the exhaust a bit louder and meaner too

I'll see if I can't get Mike to go racing this weekend to get some time slips. If not, I definately want him to dyno it next week so I can get some more data from it and maybe some mpegs

More info to come as I get it!
