For those who got a Vortech after recall
If you have bought a new Vortech system AFTER the recall where Vortech purged all inventory with the defective bearings in 2007, please post here. Any of you guys got bad blowers even after Vortech supposedly fixed the bearing failure issue? My kit was purchased brand new through GTM about 2 months ago and I definitely have the same failure as the units back in early summer. I talked to Vortech and they are denying the possibility of still selling old units, stating ALL blowers have the new non defective bearings. Maybe I just have shltty luck and got the 1 bad apple in the bunch but Im kind of having my doubts.

Is there a possibility that you overspun your S/C using the 2.87 pulley? With the 2.87 pulley, the S/C begins to overspin at over 6K RPM.

i put less than 1k miles on the blower and never revved it past 4000 rpms due to needing a retune when my meth injection is installed. All the miles is just freeway cruising so theres no way I could have overspun it. Only time it even went past 4k rpms to redline was when Sam was tuning the car before I even got it back

Yeah that sux that you are having these issues bro but it is possible that you just got a bad unit. I had one of the defective units from last summer so I feel your pain. Vortech is pretty good about getting them back fixed though. Just get it in to them ASAP and hopefully you don't have a lot of down time.
