That doesn't seem right at all. Running rich with the 2.87 pulley with the stock fuel system?? Either his Z is one in a million or his afr readings are off. You can take the chance if you want, but I wouldn't recommend it at all. You are asking for BIG problems running the 2.87 with the stock fuel system.

how's the injector duty cycle and fuel pressure with the stock injectors and 2.87 pulley?
maybe you get enough fuel, maybe you don't. But if your fuel pressure is insanely high and your injectors beyond maxed out, it doesn't matter because you'll still be looking at buying a new engine soon enough

- engine rpms
- blower type
- intake manifold
- intake tube diameter
- displacement
- heads
- cams
- headers
- cats/pipes
- exhaust
- ambient temp
- altitude
etc etc
though more psi doesn't necessarily mean more power, it just means there's more restriction in relation to the airflow going through the engine

The stock Vortech fuel system is a rising rate of [ 8 to 1 ] on older models and [ 6 to 1 ] on the newr years . The 2.87 pulley is going to get you around 3-4psi more boost than the stock pulley . Thats 18 to 32 psi higher fuel preasure for short periods of time . Is it a good thing ? NO ! But you guys way overreact like a bunch a freaked out women . If the guys car is able to get to redline with out getting lean . It isnt going to blow up [ as long as he has the right timing pulled ] any sooner than the guys with bigger injectors .

well... I don't wanna sound like a wise guy here. But this was my case. In fact, i had 2 widebands fitted on my car the day i dynoed it. With the 2.87 pulley and 10.5 psi the car was too rich as I explained earlier. I was surprised to see that, was already planning to get a better fuel system as I always follow the useful tips of members like "Booger" and "Sentry".
That is why I had my car dynoed before tracking it, so basically, it had the 3.12 tune on it when I dynoed it with the 2.87! So, 395whp untuned and too rich.
I tracked the car since then 3 times (after doing some correction to the mid range AFR) and even managed to get 1st on A2. (check linky)

The question is, did any one run lean on this pulley and was really needing the bigger injectors and fuel pump? or it is just an anticipation?
p.s. I did not order bigger injectors coz my friend was running stock injectors on his SC350Z with similar boost (if not more:s) and was running rich too!
