Default Tell me if these temps sound normal.

just took my car out for a cruise to do some data logging. here is a list of my cooling mod's so you have a reference to go by.engine is stock block bye the way! ambient temp to day was 71 deg F.CAR IS VORTECH SUPERCHARGED.

1.36mm koyo rad
2.nismo thermostat
3.stillen oil cooler
4.s/c oil cooler
5.vented hood
6.samco hoses
7.red line water weater
8.cooling holes cut into front end
9.crash bar removed ( center section )

WATER TEMP CRUISING AT 80MPH 75 DEG C = 167 DEG F
WATER TEMP IN TRAFFIC STOPPED FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME 96 DEG C = 204 DEG F
AIR INLET TEMP UNDER FULL BOOST (14PSI HIGEST) TEMP LOGGED WAS 46 DEG C = 114.8 DEG F

DO THESE TEMPS SOUND WITH IN CHECK?

If you feel the temps are a bit high, are you sure there is no air in the coolant system?

i do not think they are high. i am just asking for opinions on if they seem normal with the cooling mod's i just installed, or should i say lower than normal.

Why would you remove your crash bar if you didn't have to? Not that it will protect you in a significant crash, but don't you think it adds some support and rigidity to your car?

The minimal amount of cooling removing it provides I highly doubt offsets the benefits of keeping it in place

Your temps look within range but isn't the s/c oil cooler and stillen oil cooler a bit redundent?

Doesn't really matter how big your radiator is. Once you are in traffic the bigger radiator will just take longer to get to 99 C before the thermo's kick in. get a fan controller and your traffic temps will stay under 90 C

I have the Koyo 53mm rad, stillen oil cooler, aftermarket gauges - NA. My temps are on par with yours.

The small volume of coolant allows a fast rise, why not develop a way to add 3-4 more quarts of coolant in system.

A good test is to graph coolant temperature vs time say every 15 seconds to see the worst case in gear at a redlight or stopped traffic in July AC on. Then do same as you accelerate or resume speed. How much time reserve you have.

Important to not exceed 200F since ignition retard begins at 200F and worsens in 5F increments to 220F.

It's actually kind of a cool setup. Normal oil cooler, but then the line that would normally go into the supercharger goes into an inline cooler. It should help keep his blower a little cooler.

Paul- When you get a chance, check the temp of the blower. We'll see if that extra cooler is really helping or not.
