Default Recent vortech installaions

Long time forum lurker here. Im planning on doing a self instal vortech in July. I've read C3rolling posts about his vortech blower needing replacement. I was wondering how many people have installed a vortech in recent months that are still running trouble free. I plan on going with the full kit and getting a tune. Does it seem like there are still kits floating around he market that have the bad bearings from last summer.

I have noticed that many people have vortech issues on the forums lately... maybe you should change your mind to turbo

(I didnt intend on making this statement for a S/C vs. Turbo post)

I bought a used kit just recently, but it had just been rebuilt with an upgrade to the Si-trim. So, needless to say it's working great so far.

The bad batch of Vortechs were sold last summer. If you buy a new kit, you should be fine. If you buy one of the kits from last summer, there is a chance of it going bad. I had one that went bad, it was warrantied by Vortech and has been fine ever since. *knocks on wood*

the only reason im going SC is because there arent any smog legal turbo kits for ca, aside from a very watered down greddy kit

I did a self install just over a month ago, and I'm running problem free so far. I bought a new tuner kit. Just get a good tune and you sould be fine. Also read through the Vortech FAQ thread. There is alot of really good info on there.

Sentry did put together some good info together there, i've almost got the post committed to memory lol. Well from the sounds of it aside from a few recent exceptions all the recent installs went smoothly. Im confident of my ability to do the installation right but a part of me wasn't looking forward to tearing it all apart again if the blower went bad. At any rate im looking forward to tackling the project. thanks for the responses
