Minimum for F/I would be around $8,000. a turn key system like turbonetics or vortech out of box. that would be a ghetto setup running the turbonetics flash or vortech SS box, with no gauges, no safety items, clutch/flywheel. if you want a good setup 10k+ easy. with a built motor 20k+ easy. do it right the first time 30k+ easy. most people would not be happy with a out of box kit with nothing else, its like sending 8k for poor performning F/I, just not worth it at that point.

Its always interesting to read what the younger generation thinks about finances..
I wonder how many of the younger generation have a years salary stashed away in a savings account just in case times get tough and you lose your job

Well, I don't think we are all in the same tax bracket.

+1 on what coachk said, you should always be prepared for the worst.

But if you have the extra cash, just drop it! What are you gona do let it sit and make only 5% on it? I rather have the joy of FI!

My .02,

-George

A few enlistments ago, I had a choice to either be a recruiter or an instructor. Guess which one I picked?

Please tell me you're joking. All recruiters lie, huh? Are you a member of code-pink too? "Veterans" like you are a disgrace...

BTW, I am an 11B by trade with two tours in Iraq under my belt, dont try to talk down to me you REMF.

I enjoy my Z plenty, and am active duty.

Stay in school is what I alway say when I get a PM asking me the same thing.
CC is the last thing you want to use...a 20K balance takes over 30 years to pay back if you pay only the mininum....so that 20K loan ends up being 40K+.

Taking a loan to go FI Thats crazy. If you already have a car payment...why would you want to have 2 payments?

As Nexx said....30K + to do it right. All this 8K,10K,15K prices I have seen on here is only a down payment to the complete job. Yeah....I am quite sure some will come on here saying that they did it for less....I am sure you did...but for how long before you had to add another 15K to the first 15K to correct the first job??

Some of you had me fooled when I was first going FI with the low ball prices. You either pay up now or you will end up paying more than me later

80% of my bill from FP was paid with American Express....15% personal check ....5% MC. I for one REFUSE to owe anyone or any bank money. Not even student loans...thanks to my parents. This is a hobby to me....not a habit......so what I spend is what I know I can afford.
