Default WTF is up with my car! Weird electric issues!

I recently finished my engine build and was breaking it in on stock injectors and ECU and it worked perfectly fine for 500 miles. Then I installed the Haltech Platinum and RC 1000 CC injectors and trailered the car down to Hal at Injected Performance.

Now here is the issue, we got the car on the dyno and it would start up and Idle fine except for the occaisional misfire. However when we put any throttle into it the car would cut out completely and the RPM signal would drop to 0 for a split second on the data log. The occaisional misfire at idle was also the RPM Dropping to 0. Hal took an oscilliscope to the CAS wire and it was showing some pretty erratic voltage, so we changed the CAS 3 times and it didnt resolve ths issue. I ended up taking the car home and swapping the clutch and flywheel out with a stock flywheel bc I thought it was an issue with the crank trigger. The issue is still there with ths stock flywheel though!

here is everythign I have done so far with no resolution

Changed CAS 3 times
Changed the Haltech and the patch harness
checked all wiring
Swapped the clutch and flywheel out to stock
grinded down the CAS so it would sit closer to the flywheel

Absolutely nothing has worked and I am at the point where I am just going to give up and sell everything.

If anyone could chime in i would appreciate it

the build specs are:
03 G35 Coupe
RC 1000cc injectors
Forged Performance Short Block
+1mm oversized valves, GTM Cams, Ported heads
Haltech Platinum
APS Extreme TT
Greddy Evo TT Exhaust
GTM Exedy Triple Carbon Clutch

Thanks,
Jason

Don't know what to tell ya but hang in there man. I know how frustrating mystery problems can be! That $hit happens to me all the time with my toys. Someone on here will know the answer.

Have you tried contacting Haltech for support?

when I was at Injected, the US rep for Haltech was also in house and he told me that Hal pretty much knew more about the 350z haltech than anyone else. Hal has been helping me out on it but so far we are stumped.

Ok, you changed to the Haltech and changed injectors and ran into issues. It's more than likely related. Hal is brilliant, so if he can't figure it out or didn't have time, you just have to use a process of elimination:

0. Go back to stock injectors and ECU and see if it starts working normally.
If it does:
1. Swap Haltech harness cables. (done already)
2. Swap Haltech units. (done already)
3. Swap injectors out (return to RC for QC).

If it doesn't start working with stock injectors and ECU, then post back up. I don't think it's the Haltech as that is a rock solid piece of equipment. I do not trust RC injectors though. Take that manifold off and swap them out!

The other thing to check is the wiring around the injectors. Possibly a connector is swapped (unlikely) or a harness is damaged? If the stock injectors give trouble, that would be the next thing to look for. I'd look at a FSM for where continuity should exist for the harness connectors and trace them back to the ignition circuitry. You could check all the ground wires very easily while you are swapping injectors... (I presume one of the leads is a ground wire that goes to each injector)

Another RC injector quality control issue.

HKS injectors FTW! Glad it worked out for you.

i still have no clue why the injectors would be related to the weird voltage on the CAS though...

Well if the injectors are no firing properly on multiple cyls then you would be able to see that in the CAS with a erratic signal... At an idle I would think this would show up more than at high rpm since you don't have the faster momentum of the rotating assembly to keep the crank spinning.

To me, this was a trouble shooting no brainer. You change the injectors, they f the car up, you change 'em back and see if that was it.

thats what i would have thought too, and I was actually going to do that first but I didn't see the connection between the CAS and injectors
