** Update on my Car - Pics, Numbers, Videos **
Car has not been jumpstarted it has a new battery and it stays on a tender
Cooling fans/shroud are from Forged, they were blowing fuses all the time with Fp's wiring, even on the drive home. PFS then redid some of the wiring using thicker cable and better fuse. The wiring/connectors/fuses were all fine, I have NEVER had an issue since the
fix but now neither fan turn on at all.
I dont know if its headlift (didnt feel weaker like I detected last time but could be)
I dont know if its a bad headgasket now
I dont know how coolant could be entering the oil - the 2nd analysis basically stated this
I dont know why crucial metals were up 200-300% compared to the "supposedly" dirtier break in oil change
I dont know if such high heat could have damaged the HG, block to the point of no return
I do know sleeves cannot be trusted for street applications
I do know perhaps somehow air is still entering the system
I do know those that hang off of using Evans in combination with sleeves = success can go DIAF
I am going down in 4 weeks to trailer the car towards home, it may have screwed me over for the last time
I do know I am SICK of this car, its ridiculous price of ownership and its few rewards it has been providing since I built it

Now I agree 100%
Saddest part is I dont even flip out when the car fawks me over, Im so used to it I almost expect it and in turn am not surpised.
Soooo much money to make things right and I get a motor that may not have made it to 5000 miles this time.
Question is now do I bring it home let it sit for like 5 years and go at it again or do I just part this POS out and walk away from the platform. I cant justify spending any more $$$ on it anytime soon.
I really dont understand how one person can have so much fail, you and Chris deserve a hug or a cuddle from someone. Seeing these fails makes me question the reliability of our motors under high power conditions, and it further makes me question sleeves on a built motor. Im pulling my motor in a week to be built and one thing I know, no sleeves and Im keeping the build as simple as possible.
Thanks Charles
I am taking the Jeep and renting a trailer - same way it went down to FP years ago, now it comes back home fawked in its a$$
Thinking of a Friday AM departure to Clemson on Black Friday (off that day) and coming home either Sunday or Monday.
Contemplating parking it/covering it and taking tags off so I dont have to pay insurance on this POS but then I dont want to go through an inspection and $hit again....
Even when Im nice to it the car fails me: "recently" did new rotors/pads on all 4, new rear tires, new front bumper (thanks Robbie), new HID bulbs, etc. Was about to order front tires glad I didnt spend the $$$$
Tax return $$$ was gonna go towards getting it repainted/body work now plans are fawked

I got a spare truck too if u need it, I wouldn't consider it 'nice' but it's a 1-ton with a class-4 hitch and a cd player that works sometimes. It's yours as long as you need it.
edit: whoops, n/m you're covered it seems

Alberto... I would part out.
If you want to stay in the Z community, I would buy a completely different car and start over if that is what you want.
Sorry to hear about this, I echo your opinion that these cars should be driven hard as often as possible and should last, especially when built to the level you and others have.
Even the big spenders here have issues, some big issues.
And not to start speculating, but could the diffuser issue you had a short while ago have caused any damage?

If I part the car out I wont get back into a Z, at least a 350Z
I thought about the diffuser MAYBE being an issue but the wires looked good and how would the car have survived 600 miles of staright driving to make it down? If something had happened to cause a fan issue/overheating issue it would have happened quick and definetely before this I feel.
I drove down Friday no issues. Saturday the car sat all day in the rain with no driving. Sunday on the way to dinner my car bent me over, fawked my a$$ and threw me to the curb like a broke beaten ***** again.

I agree that there would have been symptoms or failure sooner than 600 miles if it were physical damage from the diffuser.
Nor would it have caused coolant to get into your oil I doubt.
Oh man, so depressing. I see no justification for you to dump more money into the car however. There is a good quote/saying I am thinking of, but I can't recall the wording. something about gambling maybe.

Hey Alberto, sorry to hear about this, again. I wish it weren't so. It does seem like the fan failure and the overheating are related. Those high amp fans really need a PWM controller to allow soft starts and gradually bring current up when they turn on and off. You can reference the DIF 60 amp dual fan controller in my build thread. I'd bet the relay contacts have fused because of heat from an instantaneous current draw (fuses take time to blow so are not foolproof protection). If you don't use a controller, you need to make sure that you have a reverse voltage spike protection diode across the relay coil (from the voltage spike that can extend into the hundreds of volts when the relays turn on/off) and pick a relay rated much higher than the continuous current rating required (double it at least, for those fans, 60 amp relays min). Not many relays have protection diodes to protect the signal source (which sends the signal to the relay to turn on/off - how is it triggered for you?). If you change the relay it will likely start working again, but get the protection diode or wire one up with the next set of relays if you choose to. Diodes are a 1$ part from radio shack.
That doesn't explain the oil analysis though. Coolant and oil together would seem to equate to headgasket failure. Sleeves FTL, again.

Damn Berto... I'm truely saddened to hear about the most recent developments with your car and your frustrations.
I hope that you decide to try again and stay in the VQ community. It's a real shame to see so many veteran members (who are good honest peeps) experiencing so much FAIL, parting out, and leaving the community lately. Too many good guys who brought knowledge, experience, and objectivity to this forum are leaving. This "community" lately seems to be on the fast track to Sh*t City on the Diarrhea Express.
Good luck and best wishes with whatever you decide to do.

Here's what I would do in your situation (I was in that situation a few years back). Part out everything you can, return to stock, sell car, take a break. Take a few months off, pick up a used HR or even a VHR and boost the stock block. Leave it at 500whp on good fuel and call it a day.

Sorry to hear man.....I hate sleeves...thats all I am going to say about that.
As far as the fans....at first ..I was blowing fuses like crazy....Sometimes one would go out ...sometimes both.....This was when the fans were left on all the time...but after FP had the Fcon control it...it never blew after that. I am sure thats how Alberto's was setup also.
Alberto brought up a good point....is there anyone left on here with a sleeved motor on a street car
...I am not talking about a track only car like SP or SFR.
