Im not seeing too many people griping about Headgames (Dave and crew) posting an INFORMATIONAL thread, they can keep pricing out of it and contact info to technically stay within the TOU. Almost everyone else on here sends their work to them (Headgames) anyway. LOL

^^^ Thanks man, it was never intended to be this way, I thought I would be on the road in February. Just sharing the experience as it happens. I really think that sharing with other Z/G oriented people has helped me remain calm through the whole process. There is nothing worse than telling a friend about your car drama and having them say something stupid like "I don't understand why you can't just sell it" or "its just a car". One of my friends told me to channel my car energy into working out , I politely offered him a hot glass of STFU

The car is being picked up this morning

An all too familiar site. I'm equal parts excited and nervous.

Off to Hill's Garage for the fuel system to be installed (thanks ttg35fort and iamdigital for the parts) and then on to Function:Tuned where the shortblock that is being assembled by Justice Racing will be made whole by Frank and Dave working on it together (heard a rumor that they used to do that before somewhere).

For members in the Mid-A within 100 miles of Baltimore, if you ever need a tow for your lowered Z/G call this guy:

Bobby Sann @ Sann's Towing 410-354-9000 he knows Hills and F:T and carries all the right materials to make sure that your car doesn't scrape when its picked up and wheels are treated like they cost the money they do.

Not off, just upgrading to dual pumps with a third pump on the hanger just in case of a failure, larger lines and thicker power cables to the pumps with separate relays, and finally some CJM rails.

Fuel will no longer be a bottleneck for power .

Chris,

I followed SPR's instructions when I installed the tripple pump hangar, but it was a little noisy. I think the Walbros were vibrating inside the hangar. You might want to tap and thread the hanger so that you can use a screw or bolt to secure the Walbros in a little tighter. That should reduce the noise. Here is a drawing showing approximately where I would put the screw or bolt for each Walbro.

^^^ Thanks Terry, I will look into making that happen. I had a slight change of heart today and decided to put the fuel system on hold until after the car is up and running. One less variable at this point is a good thing and I don't want to have to worry about sorting out the fuel system and getting the new motor up and running at the same time. I keep thinking everything is just plug and play

Sooooo, as I begin to stress out as things get close and the summer reaches and end for me this week, my wife who has been so supportive through this whole process made an off-hand remark this morning about now that the car is gone again maybe I can clean up all the car parts that I have just laying around. I explained that there are only a few things here and there and she then invited me to "open my eyes and take a look around". Upon further recon I must say that I got . This is what I found:

A prep cart from work with valve covers, engine plastics and various tools and conduit dress up pieces right outside door to the garage.

The benchin the corner of the garage with 3 JL subs and an entire center console and cubby section in plastic wrap, plus the stock plenum cover.
My Build: The Good, The Bad & The Progress-p8250377.jpg

Right next to the bench I found the stock sub hanger and various motor gaskets I'm sure I will never use again.
My Build: The Good, The Bad & The Progress-p8250379.jpg

Using my nephew's car seat as strage for the rear timing cover (bad uncle), 5 gallons of methanol and the stock upper plenum.

Stock rear diff in front of the door to the shed.

What year is your core motor being used? Your front timing cover is an 05+ non rev up, make sure they have the correct rear timing cover for this.

The cover should be right, I have an 05 DE, are there different covers for that same year?

Yeah, there are 2 different non rev up covers. It's easy to tell from the upper center section. Notice in this picture there are less bolt areas on the top center, it's flatter.

That difference will tell you which rear timing cover to use, if you don't have the correct front to rear not all of the bolt points bolting the inner and outer will mate up. Meaning oil can get out of the casing.

They came off as a set, in fact I now remember that I used the covers off my stock block 05 DE, they should be fine.

What brand of polish are you using brother, I'm trying hard to get my finish where yours is at

Cool, just want to make sure the littlest things are not missed.

That was fresh from the polish shop, the better the initial polish is done the longer that luster will last.

Meguirs NXT polish, Eagle one nano polish, and smartwax metal polish are pretty good too. Work the hand ones in smooth and let the compound do the work not your muscles.

Don't let coolant and other chemicals dry on the high polish. It's a ***** to get off by hand.

Red circle is the visual difference. Blue area is where not all the bolts will line up when bolting front cover to the rear cover.
