My Build: The Good, The Bad & The Progress

Thought the Hanger was from SP, not SPR. Frank or Dave were trying to find the directions online somewhere and were having issues. That install is above my pay grade so I will let them continue to sort it out. I think it still needs the relays too, the wiring is getting crazy at the battery now .

My SP triple pump hangar looks like there is a concert being wired for in the tank lol....lots of stuff coming out of it and wiring for 3 pumps to boot lol.
Then the 3 pumps go to 3 relays, fuses, etc but those are up front on my setup.....I now know why Larry's background is electrical engineering lol

Took one of my boys from work out for a demo today and did a pull from 65mph in 3rd gear to 140mph
Looks like the shift to 5th is right around 118-120ish, caught a glimpse of the slip light going off somewhere around 85mph. New tires and inspection waiver tomorrow so that should give me a bit more confidence. The power comes on real fast and its hard to gather info from the gauges as the tach is slamming to the right. Still haven't turned the meth on yet .
The clutch is taking some getting used to as well. After I beat on the car a while it gets grabby, but I'm still learning what rpm and how much slip for smooth transitions after it gets hot.
I can say this for sure, the difference between 300whp and 575whp is night and day when you push the car. The car has my full attention when I get into the gas now. I have a new-found respect for vids like Albertos, toms and jtgli where you see the car being pushed hard and it looks easy.

Vids coming later this week, I have to find a smaller tri-pod or have someone ride along to film. Worst case senario I will zip-tie the tripod to the passenger side headrest and mount the camera that way.
Still lots of small cosmetic touches to take care of, but the car is so much fun I just don't care how it looks right now. Left work today and had a crowd of construction guys checking it out. I'm bathing in the WIN right now, can't wait to find my first domestic and completely hurt someone's feelings.

Chris,
Traction actually makes the car much more controllable!!!!!!
Spinning through triple digit speeds ain't fun at all! When you don't have to worry about breaking traction (unless you hit a large seam in the road, or bump or something) its so much more fun.
BTW, which clutch did you end up going with? And which diff you runnin (3.3 or 3.5)?
Thanks,
Tom

What size tires and what rpm were you shifting at?
You should be a little faster than that (on a 26.2in tire) with that diff....but I bet you were "short-shiftin" anyway.

I'm still scared to put the pedal all the way down and the car is pulling hard all the way to the redline and seems to take a second when I shift to get back into the powerband of the turbos. My greed may have put my power a bit far on the right side of the graph (Alberto was right), but some plenum, fuel and redline tweaks and it will be like driving a Supra, just wind it out up top.

yea, once you wind it out further you'll be shifting into the boost area again....you'll always have a little "wait" but thats what billet wheel turbos are for lol

cass, i was looking at tires recently and i picked up some brigdestone re11's and there REALLY sticky and gonna be better than the advans imho, the r888 are suppose to be amazing but r-compounds in this area wont work in winter and are limited in tire size wise. id honestly choose a better tire esp with your power levels. i cant break them loose unless i try hard and get stupid with it and hit full boost in first around a turn
