A local place called Powder Works did the coating. I had a schedule worked out with him and he got behind. I had the install on the brakes all set up with some friends and he gave the calipers to me when they were still warm. It was so cold outside that the difference in temp made them crack. He has offered to re-coat the calipers for free at a later date.

Engine Bay Bling
So did you clearcoat the DB engine bay? No need to repaint the DB color; just clearcoat it!! It will look finished since I believe Nissan does not clearcoat the engine bay.

Install - Day 2
Today started off with almost as much fail as yesterday - a two hour school delay for my son meant I was stuck at the house until 10:30am (I drop him off for kindergarden every morning). It was just after noon by the time I got to Hill's and I missed a lot, by the time I arrived Frank had pulled the stock motor and trans and had begun swapping components onto the new motor.
I just realized that I have two different fans. Is this normal?

Some pics of the new motor now that Frank has installed the turbos and most of the hardware from the stock motor. We took a lot of time to paint as many brackets and bolts as possible prior to assembly - Frank is awesome like that and is possibly as OCD as I am with things. I wish I had more time to get everything powder coated, but it still looks nice. It seems I forgot to take a late day pic since I know a lot more was done before we took it off the stand and we ended up removing some of the pieces the pics show insalled so they could be painted. I will get one in the morning.
I can't seem to find the bolts that go in the center of the plenum, so that is a minor issue, but I know I had them and they were powder coated blue - I've looked everywhere

Don't remember if my G has different Fans. But its not uncommon on most cars....
One fan runs off the engine temp sensor (i.e. turns on when thermostat opens), the other comes on when the A/C is turned on..
Have had 2 honda Accords that had 2 different fans like that.
And damn Cass you're gonna need a clear hood so everyone can appreciate the work at all times

I spent the day working on what I thought would be a simple project, but turned into an all day affair. Frank and I decided to mount the meth resivoir as low in the hatch as possible so I could hide it if I wanted to. I fabbed up a cardboard template and transferred it over to a wood base to use for a mount.
Then I had to cut out the foam insert to fit around the bottle and silicone everything in place for a nice tight fit. The edge of the bottle will sit just inside the trim on the hatch and only stick up about 2".
I ran the meth line (pink tube in the above pic) along the back of the hatch and through a grommet close to the rear of the hatch after taking off the stock muffler heat sheilding. I then secured the pump switch and float sensor inside the spare tire well and ran the power wires up the passenger side under the doorsill.
Tomorrow Frank will mount the pump and inline filter and I will re-install the interior trim for the hatch and sills and then work on cleaning up the engine bay. If all goes well tomorrow, the new motor, clutch, turbos and rear diff will be installed tomorrow and thursday we can work on the wiring and engine harness dress-up.

Man I'm tired today - the RA thread is hell to keep up on when I get home.
I got to Hill's and put in a full day today. First let me say what a joy it is driving on 695 around morning rush hour.
I started by cleaning out the engine bay as best as possible (still wishing it were painted) and then got to work putting the conduit on all the wiring. I decided to cut off the factory conduit instead of just going over the top of it so the looms are the same size as stock. Another simple project that ended up taking all day. My fingers are so sore I can berely move them and typing really hurts as well.

Frank got the clutch, trans and the last of the TT kit installed today, he does awesome work

We put the braided stainless covers on the Samco hose kit, what a PITA 
and a few shots of the rest of the APS kit ready for install.
Oh, I was wrong about the open dumps, Frank showed me today how they are routed back into the down pipes, you may be able to see it in the pics.

Shortly after finishing the conduit wiring in the engine bay my OCD kicked into high gear and I tackled putting new conduit on the main engine harness. This possibly took longer to unwrap than it did to put back together, but I think it looks pretty good. A full wire tuck would have been perfect, but that requires more planning and time than I am willing to commit right now. Frank followed behind me connecting things up as I moved around the harness. Here is the motor in final form ready for install.
Another long day ahead tomorrow, but a lot of the boring and tedious work is getting knocked out, so things should move more quickly in the next couple of days.

Sorry - I've been off the forum for a few days pulling long days in the shop with Frank trying to get things wrapped up. There has been a lot of progress, not all of it good .
I will have a full update and lots of pics and maybe a short vid (if I can figure it out) later today/tonight.
