That is pretty much the plan!! I have the springs already, but Frank took them out so we can't hurt the motor during test drives. Any idea how much psi the Tial green springs hold??

I think I will invest in some new rear tires as well, the Falkens I have on now are pretty beat and not very sticky. I was planning on Toyo R888's, but I only have 9.5" rims in the rear and they don't make them in my size.

Any input on tires is appreciated - looks like I can run a 275/35R19 or 285/35R19. I don't want any rubbing or have the tire bulging off the rim either. Also, now that I am lowered, is there anything I need to be careful of when going for an alighnment?

I'm in the same boat on tires, 18x9.5 here too.....leaning towards the BFG DR's or Nitto DR's....something that will hold the power.....

Alberto seems to have some good luck with the KDW II's too.....hmmm

no clue on the tial springs.

Thanks George - a Thank You to you and Sam as well for answering questions along the way. BTW, what tires are you running on your G? I'm looking for something that is very sticky, but not crazy loud at highway speeds (for the wife, you know )

Cass,

Made my decision. I'll have the BFG DR's on in about a week (295-35-18). I'll let you know what I think too

Yup they are the dot approved tire.
Not much tread, but I don't drive much unless its for fun.....and they'll prolly only last one season anyway.

Very nice Tom. I checked and they don't make them in 19 inch though. The search continues.

Think these are what Alberto's running, maybe you can ask him. Or check with Mike (XKR), he runs 20's so even less choices

Everything looks and sounds so good! It's nice to here how well this is coming together in the end. I need to put those lights on my future mod list.

I run the Toyo T1rs (admittedly on much less power than you'll be pushing) and have been very happy with them. I was running 295/30/19s in the rear and they gave me very good wet/dry traction and good cornering. I've also heard good things about the KDWII's but heard that they are a bit louder (which it sounds like you are trying to avoid). I'm gonna run the KDWs up front this summer to get a feel for how I like them...plus I got a steal on them

Congrats on finally getting her done Cass. I'd love to see your Z when I make it out to Hanover.

Sounds kind of similar to mine too. The faint ticking sound speeds up as you rev the motor. Is this a normal built motor sound (not the expected loopey cam sound), even if you don't have aftermarket cams, valvetrain or headwork done?

I've also heard the valve or ticking noise could be "valve lash"?

theres a place in silverspring MD called radial tire that has stupid pricing on toyos(and other tires, but esp good deals on toyos) if your venturing down that route, ive heard good things about 888's with hp builds but have NO experience with them
