My Build: The Good, The Bad & The Progress
#844
Shocka04 - please delete your post as well. Putting out there info that may/may not be accurate is not cool. If you have an actual issue, PM a mod. My thread is not about Mid-A drama.

Thanks Tyler - its a lot of hurry up and wait right now, which is very frustrating. I am thankful that spring is coming late and the nice days seem to be few and far between. Glad to see that your are happy with your project results and all is going well for you.

Just heard from Frank who spoke to Jim Justice. Two rods need to be replaced and the block is done (as in FAIL, not ready to go), pistons and cams are also done, but I already knew that. The pistons scored the cylinder walls too deep to be saved without sleeving the block. The big day is tomorrow - heads are being evaluated. Dropping turbos off for evaluation tomorrow as well.
Looks like the build just got another $1K expensive to find a donor block to re-build .
Soooo close to just putting the turbos on the stock block right now.

The results are in.....
Turbos - Need new bearing cartridges
Block - Shot
Heads - Junk (only the springs and retainers are good) the valves are too short for being sunk in the original valve job that they are too short to use in a normal head
Rods - 2 are shot
Bearings, pistons and cams are all scrap
Oil pump is garbage as well
Its actually the worst possible result and I just need a few days to process the magnitude of this FAIL and what I want to do.

OMG!
Cass...Im terribly sorry to hear this. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. That includes drinks on me the next time we get together.
Edit: Just saw that TurboTim has some rev-ups for sale that were oil consumption motors for $600. They're perfect for a core
