There is an airstrip in Michigan that has rented for a high speed event, I had actually planned on contacting them to look into organizing an event in 09'. I went ahead and sent them an email for more details on renting it. I also contacted the group that put the event on to inquire about their experience with that airport. It's a 3 mile long straighaway and 200' wide
I've been looking at and working on making some small additions to our car so we can run it in the mile, so I'm very interested in this event. I think I can get our car to the 22xmph range maybe even a tick more.
Let me know if there is anything we can do here at SP to either help facilitate the event or help organize.

I'd be down for that....should be Vortech'd by then....weak I know but still would love to do some high speed runs and see whatchall got....which is way more than I'll ever have.

I would like to attend but the fun for me is the "exciting" driving in the area, and with my recent tickets/court battles I really need to avoid that stuff lol...we'll see as the event gets closer. I havent driven the car in weeks and even then it was a quick romp down the backroads and down the highway.
Call me sometime (or one day when you get off) I moved you gotta check out the place. It's not far from your work.
^^i dont think sub 450 hp (hell sub 600 hp) cars are invited.
That was the idea last year but it turned out that 4xx hp was the norm. Hate to say it but some bolt on and stock cars raced for some amusement between the issues some of the others had. Good times though!

any word yet where this will be?? and at what times, Last year it was at my back door and i freaking missed it. if its not close, i might fly in before things start just to hang out and watch.
