I agree with this guy. If it were my car I would. Miles don't scare me, if the car has been taken care of and wasn't beat to sh*t.

I will go ahead save money first, untill you have a money to build motor.
100,000 milies is alot, i bet your other parts needs to be replace as well (soon)

As others said do a leakdown, if good go for it and use a quality and conservative tune.

Eh, go for it. Worst case is that you blow the motor and have to get a new one. Ask anyone here who's serious about FI on this car and they'll tell you it's the risk you have to be willing to take, and then afford to fix when it happens (not if, but when).

If it was an American motor I would worry about the mileage. It's japanese for crying out loud. 100k is just the break in. I went boost at 120k+ on a vq30 and don't regret it(i'm at 140k+ now). As long as you keep the afrs right I think you will be fine, plus vq35s aren't that rare.

Let me chime in on this since I have done this before. I turbo'd my Z at around 109k a while back but before I did I had the leakdown and compression test done. The test came back with bad results basically showing my engine was weak. I ended up getting a low mile revup VQ with 30k miles just in case. At around 125k the engine failed as I suspected but knowing that already and having a spare engine I was not worried. So before doing anything I suggest getting a Leakdown and Compression test if not get a spare engine they can be found everywhere. I got my engine and tranny for around $2000 at a local salvage yard here in Los Angeles. No issues yet with this motor even thought it reads 161k on the odometer.
