I looked into doing that, but the heads are slighty further apart on the HR motor. you could grind and open things up to make the HR rear coolant pipe fiit, but then you also have the issue of getting hose through the timing cover opening, too. the opening is much smaller on the DE thsan the HR..........

Our 4.0 L stroker is a combination of larger bore 97mm (stock is 95.5 mm) and a 90 mm stroked crank. This combination can be done with out sleeving the block and maintaining a good bore to stroke ratio. Also of course this will be more cost effective since we are not sleeving the block. And lastly with this combination we are stilll able to utilize the the new HR head gaskets.

Any longevity/reliability concerns about running high boost/high power on thinner stock sleeves that have been slightly bored? Isn't that structurally weaker than a stock bore on stock sleeves?
I imagine it's fine for low boost apps, but what about high boost and applications well over 600whp?

Interestingly enough, the HKS VQ35 gasket is set at 97mm. I just havent seen any issues yet, with .020, or .040 in terms of cylinder wall stability, cracking, or HG failures even at 96.5mm. Another .5mm should be easily doable, IMHO.
Personally, I would take my chances with an unsleeve 97mm block, rather than a 96mm sleeved block.
Wasnt it GTM that gave you 2 bum blocks and a defective set of cams in the first place?. I remember my brother said he had some serious hours in your car (Oliver), More than mine lol..

All the common .020 builds result in 96mm bores. A jump to 97mm bore should not be an issue.

You could bore the block over 97 mm. We have chosen to stop at this point so we don't compromise the structure of the block, also we have several engines over seas running this combination with out reporting any problems some of them are pure track cars, I hope they chime in.
Keep in mind the advantage of having a stroked engine is that you can get quite bit more power with less boost and it is a torque monster... it is all in the torque.
so no concerns with this set up

I know Intense certainly pushed the envelope on the stock sleeves with their widebody G with 906whp on the dyno and multiple 700whp passes in the 1/4 mile. But that was with only a .020 overbore.I just get the impression that r0mey is going for bigger power than his previous setup. Maybe I'm wrong. That's why I was wondering how this motor will hold up to high boost and 700+ whp.
